Report: Roethlisberger out vs. Ravens
Ben Roethlisberger will not play against the Ravens on Sunday night because the Pittsburgh Steelers starting quarterback is suffering from concussion-related symptoms, Fox Sports reported via twitter.
There has been no official confirmation from the Steelers.
Dennis Dixon, a fifth-round pick in 2008 who has been the Steelers’ No. 3 quarterback all season, will make his first start. Long-time backup Charlie Batch (wrist) has already been declared out.
Roethlisberger left last Sunday’s game at Kansas City after taking a shot to the head. Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said all week that Roethlisberger would start Sunday’s pivotal game between the Ravens (5-5) and Steelers (6-4). But Roethlisberger has been suffering from exercise-induced headaches, according to Fox Sports.
NFL Network first reported on Friday at Roethlisberger might miss his first game of the season.

All they have to do is go after Landry and they will win , he is hopeless............If Carr plays that will help them also.........and what can I say about Walker , they still will tourch our pitiful secondary , Ozzie must be proud.............

No Jen Toothlessbooger? Good for us.

The Steelers will be without 2 of their marquee players AND one of their starting offensive linemen (and the starters have not exactly been the 7 Blocks of Granite). The Ravens HAVE to take advantage of this.
If they lose this game they not only do not deserve to be in the playoffs, they do not deserve to have a winning record.

If that's true, that is amazing news for the Ravens and they are right back in the playoff hunt. The Ravens defense has not been as good as the last couple of years, but Dixon has never seen anything this fast. Ravens win big!

Best decision Ben ever made.......short term hurt for the team, long term good decision for both. Put this in our win column......we finally get a break this season.

Looks like the Ravens will get a free pass this Sunday.

FINALLY a Big Break from Big Ben

The Steelers don't put players on the field unprepared. Dixon was a double threat in college. I wouldn't be surprised if he preforms well. If he cant throw on us, he will be running on us. If the Ravens lose this game, someone in the coaching staff loses their job at the end of the year. Good teams or even, average well coached teams, don't lose these games. As of yet, I am not sure we are either.

The Ravens were going to win this game even if Jen played, but now this one is going to get ugly fast. Ravens by two td's minimum.

If Dixon starts, who will the Steelers backup QB be? Will Ben be inactive?

Tyler Palko, who played college ball at Pitt, is the backup quarterback. Big Ben will be the emergency No. 3. (Jamison)

Some of you guys better pull your pants up and quit acting silly. We thought, at the start of the season that the Bengals would be a cakewalk. We struggled against the Browns on Monday night. You relax against the Steelers and you'll get burned. I want the Ravens to win just as bad as anyone, but, come on, we've got our own problems.

Even with no Roethlisberger, nothing is guaranteed with this Ravens team. If they play like they played against Cleveland, I could QB Pittsburgh to a win. The Ravens still need to treat this game like a must must win and play like it for 60 minutes.

Steelers must win for any shot at the playoffs. Dennis Dixon will be a tuff matchup for an aging Raven D. I hope the Ravens come in over confident as they will be honored guests at Dixon's coming out party. Steelers 27-Ravens 17. Sorry to burst your bubbles. Didn't y'all used to be the Browns?

I promise you I will smoke the hell out of your linebackers including Faye Lewis--your secondary is toast, and your QB who looks like Bert from Bert&Ernie, will get his buck teeth pushed even farther out...That is all for now...

This is a huge break for the Ravens!
That doesn't make the game a cakewalk, but it is without a doubt not only the best lucky break The Ravens have gotten this season. It's practically the only one!
How many teams have The Ravens played coming off of bye weeks now?
And I'm not making excuses for the Ravens D's bad play this season, but to say the scheduling and officiating that The Ravens got in it least 3-4 games this season was atrocious is beyond an understatement!

Seriously. YOu guys are ridiculous chalkingt hs one up. The Steelers have and always will win with defense. The defense is what we need to worry about. It's not like their offense ever lights us up. Both games in the regular season AND the playoff game were won because of their defense. Big Ben is elusive and does make plays- but I have a feeling so can Dixon- given that we've never seen him play before.
Remember Roethlisberger's rookie year? Everyone thought the Steelers would tank that season too after Maddox went down- and look what happened...
Talk about counting your chickens!

A lucky break for the sad sack Ravens. Even with this huge loss, a win is not guaranteed for this broken down team of aged criminals and thugsters.
Too bad we dont have cheerleaders in Pittsburgh we could play a few to really make it a fair game.
Only fluke Super Bowl doesnt make a championship franchise, sorry Browns, uh , err Ravens.

It's amazing that a bunch of Steelers fans are always present around here!! Nothin better to do folks?? Oh yea, I forgot it's $hitzburgh after all! There is not anything to do there anyway. and it gets better when you see these fans up-close & personal cuz they happen to have NO TEETH! Hmmm, interesting eh?? I respect the Steelers for winning the most Lombardi's, but their fans are undoubtedly one of the sorriest groups of people that one will ever come across. Why do they have such HATE towards the Ravens?? It's non-sense! This hate has been developing at a decent speed ever since we swept them in 2006 with a combined score of 58-7! SAD....its very sad! The winningest franchise in the NFL deserves a better fan base than these classless, low-life bunch. Good luck on Sunday!

All you know-it-alls would do well to read James Thurber's Fable For Our Times,"The Unicorn In The Garden," the moral for which is "Don't count your boobies before they're hatched." What makes you all think an offense that has scored only one TD in the last eight quarters, that couldn't break the plane from the Colts 1-yard line, will be able to score upon the Steeler D? I'm a Ravens fan, but you people need to stop drinking the grape Kool-Aid.

If Dixon proceeds to play like Kordell Stewart then some of you overconfident fans will be eating some crow about,"now we have it made".Do you think the Pitt coaches are just going to throw in the towel if they fall behind in the score? This Dixon might run for his life in the seams of our defense and if the offense becomes stagnant for 7pts. again........long night, fellows.

That's a great break for the Ravens. I give the edge to them now and think they will win.
