Not much from Marshall vs. Ravens

Can we now end all the Brandon Marshall hoopla now? He had four catches for 24 yards and Kelley Washington had four catches for 58 yards. After the game was over, Marshal walked directly to the tunnel for the locker room without talking to anyone. If the Broncos keep losing, Marshall will go off soon.

Hey Mike,
Marshall performance was a direct reflection of the QB play. And to this day, all things being equal, a good qb, good offensive line, good running game I would take Brandon Marshall over Kelly Washington any day of the week. In fact watch this weekends up coming gambe PIT vs Den and see how much Marshall contributes as to How much Washington produces against Cincy

the knock on marshal is that he disappears in physical games. he was no where to be found yesterday while the ravens were smacking the broncos all around m & t.

Mike, I refrain from bashing you the way most readers of your columns do since I still read the next one even if I disagree with some of the content of the previous. However, when a man finds it difficult to stand by his own bold statements it does not speak too well of him. Mr. Preston were you not the same individual that had Marshall and Royal against Washington and Foxworth and predicted a better faring for Marshall? So is it not fair to say you started the so called "hoopla"? I, for one, thought Marshall would have a big day against the Ravens and I'm happy to know I was dead wrong. Maybe you should try that too-- I mean admitting you were simply wrong about this... and many other things that we need not address here or now.

Washington does look good on third down!

So Mike are the Ravens interested in signing Clayton?

Chris Chambers got released by the Chargers.

"If another team claims Chambers, the Chargers won't have to pay the $2.25 million they owe him.

Chambers had one catch for 20 yards Sunday against Oakland. He has only nine catches for 122 yards and one touchdown this season."

Doesn't look like he is playing particularly well this season however. I've been happy with Mason and Washington's production although I'd hope to see a bit more from Mark Clayton this season. Seems he is still good for one amazing catch each week though. Not sure on cap room etc but think there is any chance the Ravens go after him?

They lost one game. Why would he go off even if they lose 2 mre in a row? You make no sense once again.

Easy to see:
1. he was playing with Orton
2. we had a pass rush for once

What exactly is the point of this post? I agree with Mr Preston on most of his comments/posts/etc., but complaining by a jounalist/reporter/whatever it is called now, vexes me. Isn't it part of the job to deal with people asking questions over and over again? If it annoys Mr Preston that much then just ignore the comment. The Broncos just lost their first game, why would Marshall go off already? If that is the case, he is just looking for an excuse to go off.

Not much of an apples to apples comparison.........

Right. And Randy Moss had 3 catches against the Ravens. So I guess Kelley Washington is as good as Randy Moss. Just because the Ravens have found success on the offense with Rice does not mean that the weaknesses at the WR spot have magically disappeared.

I'll take Washington, the 2nd & 3rd round picks, and the cap space any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I don't know if he's necessarily a better receiver than Marshall, but he costs a heck of a lot less and cap management is just as important as clock management in the NFL - just go ask the Deadskins. Washington was on two receiver heavy teams Cincy and NE and didn't have a ton of opportunity because there are so many balls to go around. I love the way Ozzie is building this offense - from the inside out.
