McDaniels sings Flacco's praises
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels was impressed with Ravens second-year quarterback Joe Flacco. Flacco avoided the Denver rush several times Sunday, and it reminded McDaniels of another quarterback in the AFC North.
"He's a good quarterback," said McDaniels of Flacco. "He made a lot of tough plays under duress [Sunday]. He has shown the ability to do that before. It didn't surprise us that he was tough to get down in the pocket. He doesn't easily give up on plays. This guy is a lot like the guy we're going to get ready to play this coming week [Ben Roethlisberger] in that there is not much give-up in Joe Flacco. He showed the ability to keep some plays alive, and it really hurt us."

Flacco is going to be a great one. I've been watching the game for over 50 years and he's as good as it gets. He has it all, size, speed, athleticism, arm, pocket presense, able to move out of the pocket and throw or run, plays well under pressure, doesn't let his or others mistakes bother him, . . . To think of the people we saw over the last ten years, we deserve to finally have a good one.

Joe is very cool under pressure, much more so this year than last. I don't know if he's got Ben's strength but I believe he's got a bigger and better arm.
Its fun watching the this kid mature.

Ozzie Newsome and staff deserve a great deal of credit for drafting Joe (and Ray Rice) last year. Flacco can be for the Baltimore Ravens what Johnny U was for our Baltimore Colts (why Indianapolis didn't your get your own name!). Thanks, Oz.

I still think the Ravens got the best QB in the draft and that Flacco was the real Rookie of the Year, last year. I watched this Monday night's game and Matt Ryan looked petrified trying to lead his team down the field in the 4th quarter and his throws down field were weak. Joe is poised in stressful situations, has a canon for an arm, and once he gets warmed up he is one of the most accurate QB's out there. Watch old film of Johnny U and then watch Joe as he throws the deep pass. They are almost identical, arched back and statuesque.
This kid is special and I'm grateful he is a Baltimore Raven.
