In praise of Peyton

Veteran Ravens defensive end Trevor Pryce has heard it all or seen it all during 13 seasons in the NFL. But he still doesn't quite have the answer for how to deal with Peyton Manning's precision passing game.

"Every time I've played against Peyton Manning, I get that question," Pryce said. "And every time I get it, I answer it differently. And I'm always wrong. So I really don't know.

(Pause)

"Quite honestly, the best way to do it, is you can’t put him on the field," Pryce continued. "The only entity on a football field that can stop Peyton Manning is the sideline. The best defensive player is the sideline. You keep Peyton on the sideline, you have a chance. You can say it’s the blitz, or the pass rush or coverage. People have tried everything every year and continuously come up with exotic schemes … and it doesn’t really matter."

Well said, Trevor. Hoping the Ravens bring back the 3-headed Monster and play it until someone stops it. Alas,I'm almost ready to bet the house they start out with 3 straight passes. Go Ravens!

Just like any qb, he doesn't like being hit consistently. Although very difficult to do, if the Ravens are able to get pressue, even if it results in 1st downs, it will most likely yield dividends in the second half.

Ask the Miami Dolphins how well the sideline stops Peyton Manning.

Peyton Manning does what Joe Flacco should have learned to do by now. Make that pass within 3 seconds. No one can get to Manning because the ball is released almost instantly after the hike.

hello, from indy...at this point guys, one thing is sure, after 7 straight loss. the colts are in the raven's head
