F.Washington expected to miss the remainder of season with torn ACL
The Ravens suffered their second major injury of the season as cornerback Fabian Washington is expected to sit out the rest of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Washington suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of the team's 17-15 loss to the Indianapolis Colts when he lowered his shoulder in an attempt to force running back Joseph Addai out of bounds. Washington appeared to land on his left leg awkwardly and had to be carried off the field.
Washington, who was using crutches after the game, is scheduled to undergo a magnetic resonance imaging exam sometime today, but the Ravens are preparing for the worst.
"It looks like he has an ACL tear," coach John Harbaugh said during his weekly news conference. "We’ll find out later today. Maybe the MRI will come back and tell us something different, but as of right now, we’re proceeding as if he’ll be done for the season."
Conventional wisdom would seem to suggest that rookie Lardarius Webb would be promoted to starter, but Harbaugh declined to name a starter just yet.
"Lardarius is going to be a big part of the plans," he said. "I’m not sure exactly how we’re going to set that up right now. Of course, Chris Carr is in the mix, and Frank Walker’s in the mix, and we’ll see if we bring somebody else in at corner to kind of bolster us up a little bit. But we’ll be sharing the duty a little bit with that. obviously, Lardarius has played well, so he’ll be a part of that."

I know CMac was/is a pain the behinds, but we should have brought him in after the first week. We need help in our defensive secondary. It is not fair for the guys up front to play their hearts out and have the big play take us out of contention over and over.

For those of you saying "Good, Washington sucked." Go back and re-read the last name above. Frank Walker. That's right folks. With Washington gone and Webb replacing him, that means Carr moves to the nickle and Walker to the dime. You remember what our pass defense was like earlier in the season? If I am playing Baltimore, I spread them out with 4 wide and pick the guy covered by Walker or Carr. Let's hope Mattison (the so-called bum whose defense is now 4th in the league in scoring d) can find a way to compensate for this. Good luck coach!

Please, no Walker...

The two words Ravens fans dread the most: Frank Walker.

This season is over, start webb and sit Walker. Walker should not be in the long term plans. We are in for a few rough years.

Well thank goodness Frank Walker is in the mix! It'll be great to see the human penalty flag back in the secondary talking smack and getting torched play after play.

Enough with the C Mac talk! He had a boat load of off the field issues and who knows whether his knee will hold up. On top of all that, his selfish attitude and poor work habits don't equate to the type of culture the Ravens are still trying to cultivate. So enough, he and the team have moved on. Now, let's see if we have enough to beat Pittsburgh this week and re-enter the playoff race. I think we win this week.

WALKER???? PLEASE NO!!! The only thing he is good for is a little yellow flag that gets thrown after he "makes a play"...oh, and it's usually thrown as he's in the middle of one of his dances.

I thought Frank "toast" Walker was done for the season on the practice team. Harbaugh must be joking about playing him.

I swear if Harbaugh starts Carr or Walker over Webb I'll be losing confidence in the guy. Webb has shown so much on the field that he deserves to be the starter.

Oh geez. Time to panic. I would sign Deion Sanders before I'd play Carr or Walker. Heck, right now I'd take my chances with Rick Volk, Bruce Laird, or Nesby Glasgow before I'd put Walker in.

I know my son and I had our venting moments with #31 during some games this year but we wish Fabian nothing but the best ,especially for recovery during the rest of the season.I knew he was feeling it over the sidelines and he was the man for not getting carted off right away.Good luck,Fabe;stick around and help coach your replacement(?).

I wish Fabian Washington well.....as much as I have criticized Washington and Foxworth its nothing personal....its not their fault that they were were asked to do somethng they both are not capeable of doing.....its the same situation as when Elvis Grbac got 25 milloin to come to Ravens and Cry on the sideline because Billick didn't understand That Willie Roaf and Will Shields were the stars not Grbac..........Washington has heart and tried hard.....he just didnt have enough instinct or fundamentals......he was better than Foxworth....alot better.
