Rice still doesn't understand chop-block penalty
Ravens running back Ray Rice watched the play where he was called for a chop block, but he is still doesn't understand why he was flagged. The penalty came one play before he broke a 48-yard touchdown catch-and-run.
"I definitely would appeal it," Rice said. "I was releasing for a pass on that [play]. It was a protection where everyone on the line was in ‘cut protection,’ so at the same time, he embraced me, hit me over the head and went down. That’s a judgmental call.
"Obviously, nobody wants to get chop-blocked. It wasn’t intended to be a chop block. I’m sure whatever fine will be assessed, it will definitely be handled in a correct matter.”

The league told the Bengals-Ravens refs to call all penalties possible on the Ravens. No doubt. The league doesn't like being caught with their pants down as was the case with the Pats game. Letting a Q-B call a penalty than laugh and dance away. Than it hit the national media. Alas, Ray's helmet to the head makes all that mute.

THE NFL continues to manipulate the game to ensure it's high revenue stream. Cut down on injuries and increase scoring which is designed to increase viewers and spending. Plain and simple it's a business decision.
However, the end result is destroying the game of football where hard hits are discouraged and will be fined. But fans like the violence and hard hits. It's just silly- you can't even hit the QB anymore with out a good chance of a fine. They acted in their corporate interest and ended up killing the game. Boycott the NFL.

One day I would love to see an NFL player just go off on an official and knock him out in a bloody mess. Maybe a player on a losing team getting ready to retire anyway. That would be sweet.

Some Ravens fans are truly sore losers. Seriously, look at how Cincy beat you in all facets of the game, and then you want to blame it on the zebras. Stop drinking the kool-aid from last year, and own up to when you got beat!

It's funny.. the illegal contact & pass interference penalties called on the Ravens are normally BLATANT penalties, yet they go "WHY DID THEY CALL THAT OMG IT'S A CONSPIRACY WHAT A WORLD WHAT A WORLD."
Sure the refs throw a lot of flags on the Ravens, BECAUSE THEY CAUSE A LOT OF PENALTIES. Cut out the penalties and you won't see anymore, nuff said.
BTW? Don't blame the game on the refs, because a good team would overcome and pull off the victory instead of cry about it.

Magically, on Caldwell's TD, he wasn't called for grabbing Carr's facemask and throwing him to the ground, which is why he was WIDE open. I guess the refs in the booth didn't feel it was important enough to review.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned the rediculously wrong field spot at the 20 after the challenge for the catch made at the 25 yd line was ruled good. I guess it is ok to overlook any mistakes the refs make. Like not seeing holding pennalties, pass interference, etc. The officials are not held to a higher level of performance in the NFL? With all that money the league makes a fair game is not the goal? I'd never pay to go to an NFL game...
