Ravens will win by two touchdowns
The Cincinnati Bengals are a solid and competitive team, but I don't think they are in the top echelon of teams right now that can win the Super Bowl. In fact, I think the Ravens will beat them convincingly Sunday. My hopes were high for the Bengals this season, but that close game against Cleveland last week, even though it was a Cincy win, forced me to take a harder look at Cincinnati.
The Bengals took a 14-0 lead, and then gave up 20 unanswered points to the worst team in the National Football League. A good team would have taken the Browns out by halftime. A good team would have blown the Browns off the field, not win 23-20 in overtime.
The Bengals are improved from a year ago. Quarterback Carson Palmer is playing well, and leading comebacks. The Bengals always have weapons at wide receiver, and now they have a running game to complement the passing game. The defense has improved from a year ago, and the Bengals showed some heart in their win over the Steelers two weeks ago.
But the special teams aren't so special, and I still think the Bengals are soft. This will be their third straight AFC North game coming up, their second straight on the road. The Ravens will wear Cincinnati down, and they'll punish the Bengals for last week's loss to the Patriots. I say the Ravens win by two touchdowns.

Two touchdowns? Teams are starting to expose the overrated-ness of the Baltimore offense, and expect the Bengals to be focusing on bringing pressure and eating up the weak Baltimore receiving corps. All Cincy has to do is keep their offensive turnovers in check, and your Ravenettes will be in a close matchup just like the Steelers found themselves in during week 3.

Now I'm worried about the Ravens/Bengals game. I prefer to read MP cynicism. 2 TD win? Palmer, C. Henry, and 85 are going to light the Ravens' secondary up now. Thanks a lot, MP.

Mike , why are yoyu and a lot of other people taking the Bengals so lightly. I think there will be a lot of surpeised people after this one. Can the Ravens win this one by 2 TD's? Yes, absolutley! But I think we are taking this team way to much for granted in the win and loss column, thesea are the type of games where you can get your butt cheeks handed to you in a very rude manner. That said, GO RAVENS, hand the Bengals there own butt cheeks!

Who cares?
It's the Bungles.
Your division is so weak.
The Bengals and Browns are slated as BYE weeks for most teams, and the Steelers are so hot and cold who knows what they can do(BUT, the Steelers have OWNED that WEAK division and they have won more than 1 SB in the last 10 years, so they get their props).
"the top echelon of teams right now that can win the Super Bowl" what do Ravens know about top echelon teams, other than how to loose to them. The Ravens win their WEAK division like once every ten years and have only been to one measley Super Bowl and you think you are considered a top echelon team? Your team is a bunch of wannabes.
The Ravens' overall winning percentage is just barely over 500, and you want to be considered in the top echelon, LMAO!!!
Win that weak division consistantly for 5 years, then you might be considered a top echelon team. Until then your team is still a joke.

Did the close win over the Chief's not inspire the same skepticism or does it only matter when the team the Raven's are playing has a bad game. The Raven's have played one good team this year and lost. Clevland and KC are semi-pro and San Diego had 6-7 starters out. They are going to have problems with any team that can pass the ball, they will probably win but it will be close.

I wish I was as confident as you, Big Mike. The Bengals always seem to play us tough (at least the most recent incarnation of them -- I still remember the drubbing we gave them back in 2000 that caused Bruce Coslet to retire from head coaching).
Here's hoping our under-performing secondary can shut down OchoStinko.

The Ravens will win convincingly, maybe by more than 14 points. I am a Ravens fan, and have studied this team since inception. This isn't a great week for the Bengals...They will be facing a very angry Ravens team. Plus, the Ravens have owned the Bengals as of late. My prediction: Bengals 14, Ravens 37.

Did you ever stop and think that maybe the reason the Bengals had such problems against the Browns were silly mistakes, like a fumble on a kick off that led to good field position, and special teams plays like a blocks FG and extra point by some one with 14 career blocks. I would like to see a long-snapper face up against Shawn Rodgers and not get canned.
As far as being "soft," are you speaking in the same way that our defense gives up yards through the air? If you look at the stats, over 200 yards of passing yards have come in the final 5 minutes of their games when they are playing loose and trying to protect against the big play, including a fluke 87 yard TD. Take that away and you get 769 yards, good enough for a tie with New England for 8th. Maybe its the QB's we faced so far, in Orton, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, and Anderson, who always plays big vs. Cincy. And are you comparing them to the Raven's D, who gave up 436 yards to Rivers? 256 to Brady? Oh yes, you held two other QBs to under 200 yards. There names were Croyle and Quinn. As far as running, who did you stop? A broken down Larry Johnson? An old Fred Taylor? Oh, Darren Sproles? Who needs to run when you can pass for nearly 450 yards? And Harrison from the Browns, yes, the BROWNS, has the most amount of running on your team. Who did the Bengals have to stop? Buckhalter AND Moreno, Ryan Grant, Willie Parker, and Harrison.
I think that while yes, both our records are 3-1, you have to think where the Bengals have gone though to get there and where the Ravens have gone through. Bengals strength of schedule right now stands at .500 and they are 3-1. Baltimore's SOS is .321 and they are 3-1. Of course you are 3-1.

Mike, you were right on last week (Patriots in a closeone). You really are the grand poohbah of NFL predictions!

Hey Mike,
Not so fast, Palmer has a habit of making our secondary look sick and this was when we had a healthy C. Mac and Ed Reed. What do you think he is going to do to our current group of small DB's. Now I do think we have the offense to compete against the Bengals but right now with the defense giving up over 20 points per game in three of four games this one is going to be a nail biter.

I hope the Ravens keep thinking just like this...it will give our Bengals the edge we need to pull off another upset like we did against the Steelers. Last week they had no Tank, no Roy Williams. They will both be back. Also, St. Louis won't keep snaping the longball over Huber's head. Bengals by 6. WHO DEY!

Bengals took 15 minutes of OT to score a FG against the Browns. They aren't scaring anyone. This isn't the same Carson Palmer from 2007.

Hey Ravens Suck,
Provacateur, or just moron? The SUCKY AFC North put BOTH teams in the AFC Championship Game last year, genius. Oh yea, the Steelers won the SB. Yea, weak division. THANK heaven we are not in the AFC West! BRILLIANT!

its LOSE not LOOSE bozo!

Since when did we let those Steelers fans and haters off the leash?
Overratedness of our offense? What TEAMS per say have exposed that. 21 points against the Pats, I don't think they exposed our "weak" offense. 34 points against the Browns..nah I don't think they did either. Fact of the matter is, no team has shut us down, and I don't think the bengals will either.

I noticed that RavensSuck didn't mention his team. Perhaps their numbers don't stack up to the Ravens? Only 17 of the 31 teams have overall winning records so that's a possibility. He certainly didn't mention that the Ravens have the best overall playoff record in NFL history.
Weak division? Like the AFC East and South that have one team each who have been dominating for the last 10 years? Or maybe he's a fan of the AFC West - that revolving door of mediocrity.
He must be an NFC guy since they have won so many super bowls in recent years. What? The NFC is 3-9 in the last 12 years? Well, that can't be it.
Well, if you come back RS, let us know who you do root for so we can join in and root for a real team in a real division.

We go back to a balanced attack and dominate. Mike is right we will win. My prediction is by a touchdown. I still say the Ravens beat themselves last week.

Mike, I'm not as confident, for the following reasons:
Cincy has a lot of momentum going and we are still suffering from a nasty Belichick hangover.
Our secondary has been completely exposed. They intimidate nobody. Chad O and Chris Henry are licking their chops and thinking "career day!"
We've inexplicably given up on our dominating running game after only 3 games. Now it's Air Flacco - good grief.
The defense will get flagged for even looking in Carson Palmer's general direction.
In general, I'm very disappointed in how ALL the Ravens (except Clayton) handled the loss at Foxboro. Blaming the refs and not taking personal responsibility is no way to conduct yourself. That game should have been a wake-up call, it wasn't.

I won't say they'll win by two TD's but I'll say they win by 1. I don't think this Bengals offense is nearly as explosive as it was a few years ago. Lets not forget we're still #1 against the run so we'll take Benson out of the game. The passing offense is not nearly as dangerous as it was a few seasons ago. They have talent but they don't have TJ anymore and I think they'll be easier to defend without him, not saying Coles isn't good he's just not TJ.
The Bengals D is certainly better BUT they are giving up an average of 103 rushing yards a game and they haven't faced a running game as good as ours. Lack of balance was evident last week and I think we give the Bengals a healthy dose of our running game.
I'll say Ravens win, 24-17.
