Ravens try out kickers
The Ravens tried out kickers Mike Nugent and Connor Barth but didn't sign either one. It's like a precaution if Steve Hauschka can't kick Sunday. He is probable with a right ankle injury.

Oh,great. This franchise has lived and breathed a good field goal kicker(guess who?) and now we have to scour the streets. Sounds shakey,to me, and it's his right foot.I hope Steve can pull thru for at least this next game.

I am surprised they didn't give Graham Gano another shot if that was the case.

I'd rather go for it on 4th down from any spot on the field than give the ball to Hauschka.

Letting Stover go is already coming back to haunt the Ravens ! Very bad move in my opinion.

Gano is signed in the UFL so unfortunately he isn't an option.

Where have you gone, Matt Stover?
A city turns its lonely eyes to you
- Woo woo woo...
What's that you say, Mr. Preston
Kickin' Matt has left and gone away...
Hey, hey, hey!

Yea Right.... Harbough loses confidence in Steve so now the Ravens have to fake his injury to save face for cutting Stover. I predicted two last second loses due to missed FG so we have at least one more heart wrenching lose due a miss

why did we cut stover.................

Alright, for all of you who say Hauschka is terrible and we need Stover, think about what you're saying for a second.
You'd rather have a guy who was 50% last year from beyond 40 yards than an up and coming kicker who misses his first ever last second field goal as a second year kicker.
Fellas, stop being so emotional, realize that Hauschka is going to be a very good, very legitimate NFL kicker. Matt Stover was on his way out anyway, and it only made sense to let him go. I don't hear everyone killing Tavares Gooden for not being as good as Bart Scott, but give the kids some time to develop.

getting rid of stover was the worst move the ravens ever made he was an original raven. only him and ray lewis were the only two original ravens left on the team. he was nicknamed " Mr. Automatic " because he went 4 seasons in a row without missing a field goal. and yeah he was only 50% last season thats because he only kicked 5 past 40 yards. but matt stover to quote his long time rival and good friend jason hanson, "Matt Stover is NFL kicking. No one does it better then matt. " And thats really something coming from a kicker like hanson who is one of the best kickers to ever play the game. it was one of the worst moves cutting stover and the ravens will pay the price with there extra points and field goals from here on out.

The Pats eventually let Adam Vinatieri go to the Colts; it would be hard to find a more iconic kicker, and replaced him with the young Gotskowski. After a brief shakedown period, Gostkowski now looks set for a very long run with the Pats. Everyone eventually reaches and exceeds their expiration date. Ray Lewis will soon leave as well. Get used to it.

Stover groupies, please give it up.
In EACH of his first 3 seasons, Stover was 70%. Hauschka is at 80%. Hauschka is 5-5 over 30 yards and 2-4 over 40 yards. Stover was 8-9 over 30 yards and 3-6 over 40 yards his first season. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/ Plus you can clearly see a difference in kickoffs; Stover isn't doing KOs in Indy.
He was a great player, it's a good fit for him in the Indy dome, hope he does well, but it was time for the Ravens to move to a player with upside. Why do you think Stover wasn't signed by anyone before start of the season?
