Mike Preston, calling Broncos soft, picks Ravens to win
The Ravens will beat Denver Sunday and knock the Broncos from the unbeaten ranks. The Ravens are desperate for a win to change the momentum of their season. If they lose Sunday, they are in big trouble. The Ravens will physically overmatch Denver, and the Broncos short passing attack is something the Ravens can play well against as long their cornerbacks come up and make tackles. I'll respect Denver because the Broncos are unbeaten, but I haven't drank the purple Kool-Aid yet, and I haven't consumed any of the Orange Kool-Aid either.

Come on Mike, this sounds an awful lot like your prediction that the Ravens would beat the Begals by at least 2 touchdowns. Please don't get in the habit of taking NFL teams too lightly. When you do you get your butt handed to you , remember?

I hope that you are correct Preston because if they lose at home to Denver the Ravens are done for the season.3-4 and the teams in front of you are 5-2 is not a good look.

Mike,
Soft? Come on man!!:) You can't be serious. Actually you aren't because you're picking them by 3. Yes I am a Bronco fan but I like the Ravens. I'm stoked for this game because Denver finally comes into it anything but soft!! Geeez!! You haven't been watching...

Mike Preston picks the Ravens to win!?! And against an unbeaten team nonetheless! Wow. Anyway, I do agree with the points you made, especially the fact that the Ravens are up against the wall and they are well known for coming out fighting when that is the situation. I believe Flacco has an awesome day against Denver's secondary. Brian Dawkins is ailing. Champ Bailey is still great but the Ravens have taken advantage of him in the past and their offensive situation is much improved from then. I'm going to keep that 20-17 prediction in mind when I'm sitting there amongst a sea of purple Sunday afternoon having an ice cold beer. Go Ravens.

Mike, Mike, Mike, are you in dreamland? If I could bet you a $100 right now I would. Man that must be some good stuff you smoking. I think the Ravens fans forget that this Bronco team is for real. The Broncos are the best on both side of the ball, they will outscore the Ravens and beat them up to boot, mark my words!!! Place your bets for the Superbowl right now, the Broncos will be the AFC representative!

mike mike mike the broncos got too much offensive talent you simply don't have the personel to compete i give your D 1 quarter before they start getting exposed. Your O just doesn't have it heck they are not even as good as the pats or the cowboys and you saw what our D did to those guys and for some reason you think flacco is going to be productive? i really don't see it since flacco will be on his back.
Broncos- 31
ravens- 10

Ravens have played good enough to win all their 6 games even with some severe shortcomings in a few phases of the game. Ravens will be a tough out for the Broncos, and you have to believe they are going to improve coming off the bye, at least that’s what good teams do, get better as the season progresses. Wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be sweet to knock off 2 undefeated teams at the Big Crab Cake, that is just what the doctor ordered rolling into December facing 2 dates with the Steelers with the AFC North on the line.

They (u guys in the media) said Denver would lose against the Cowboys (great Offense and pretty good D), Then they said we'd lose against the Pats (GREAT offense and a good D), Then they said the Chargers backs were up against the wall (sound familiar??) and Denver hasn't beat them in there baby blues (GREAT offense and a Good/Great D)!! SOOOO take us lightly...PLEASE!!!! Take us way lightly.....yessss we are softtt....way softttt!! (puffffffffff...pufff...hold it...hold it....wait.........k, now let it out)!!
Cheech, I mean Mike, see ya at the game and what will ya say when the Ravens lose??

Your thinking of the old Broncos....these are the new Broncos.....there's nothing soft about Brian Dawkins...Champ Bailey....Dummervil....Moreno...Alphonso Smith....Brandon Marshall or Mike Nolan....now Mattison is soft...and actually needs soft.....and speaking of soft.....nothing could be softer than Foxworth and Washington...not even Charmin....I think I saw Mr Whipple squeezing both of them last week.....they're like twin comforters on a king bed....they cant cover....tadow.!
Posted by: Rob | October 28, 2009 6:52 PM
Really? The Chargers were in the exact same "backs against the wall" "must win" situation last week, and you saw what we did to them on national tv.

I love how all these Broncos fans are on the Ravens Websites and they are trying to defend their team. i can sense the fear in them. why dont you broncos fans stick to your own websites. I bet all you Broncos fans think you will go undefeated right? well keep on dreaming Broncos fans because you all due for a very rude awakening, Ravens style.

I hope you're right, Mike. But to say the Broncos haven't faced any tough hitting teams (your video), seems odd given that they beat Cincinnati. Did you see what the Bengals did to the Bears last week? And, the Bengals, with a few dropped TD passes, soundly thrashed us.
The best thing in our favor...besides home field and desperation...is that the Broncos prefer the short pass to the bomb.

oh yeahhh...the Ravens style is losing 3 in a row bro!! Please, I will even come back if the Broncos lose and eat some Raven....I mean crow!!

I LOVE the drama you people create, Mike. You have been throwing around, "MUST WIN" games since week 4. Gimme a break. Understanding the Ravens have a tough couple game stretch, the division is still in play. Please stop feeding into the hysteria, ratings driven, "IT'S A MUST WIN WEEK!!!". A "Must Win" game is a game where a team plays for IN OR OUT of the playoffs. You are smarter than the national media - I am disappointed...

Bronco fans. Don't take Mike seriously. Think of that Woody guy you have in Denver. He writes to create controversy. When the Ravens were doing well, he was knocking them. Now they are struggling so he picks them. By the way, sounds like Bronx33 is wearing his Elway underoos and pounded a case of the orange kool-aid.

Mike
You are out of your mind, I was not happy with what Josh (hoody) did with Cutler but I have to admit he has been a great game day coach. Mike Nolan has completely changed the mind set on that side of the ball and opponents have scored only 10 points in the second half. The old Broncos always struggled with physical teams like the Ravens but this is a very different team. Most of us who have not been committed do not believe Denver will go undefeated but they are a very solid team and are one of the top 3-4 teams in the AFC. As far as your "backs against the wall" you sound just like the Norv Turner Chargers. It should be a good game

That's funny how all of the Bronco fans come out to post on a Baltimore website. I went on the "behind enemy lines" link and the Bronco fans on that site are much more realistic than the delusional ones posting here. Yes you are 6 and 0, and any team that does that in the NFL is good, but I would save the superbowl talk until deeper into the season.
My predition...pain. Oh yeah, and a physical game with the Ravens on top. 24 - 17.
Posted by: CRZA | October 28, 2009 9:47 PM
Let's see. Pats, Dallas, Cincinnati, chargers....... Brady, Palmer, Romo, Rivers...6 games and only 10 points allowed in the second half total.
It's called adjustments. No team is better in the second half than Josh McDaniels and the Broncs.
They love to play the underdog roll, and please post the headline of this lame ass article that the Broncos are soft in thier club house! Child please!

why dont you broncos fans stick to your own websites
classy...you welcome to drop by the broncos site ( we don't have a problem with it).

SOFT ? This team the Broncos have not givin up a 3rd down conversion in the 2nd half in 4 straight games and have only allowed 10 points all yr in the 2nd half. In that span they have played Dallas the Patriots and the Chargers that is 3 of the best QB'S in the league with Brady and Rivers being elite. Let me say this again NO 3RD DWN CONV IN THE 2ND HALF AT ALL IN THE PAST 4 GMS AND THERE SOFT ? By the way the denver sencondary is also the best in the league boy u need 2 watch more and they have physically beat up every team they've played plus they have the best off line in football what a joke u are
Posted by: FRED | October 28, 2009 10:19 PM
Mikey baby, what is wrong with you? Soft? What would make u say this with Dawkins, Williams, Bailey, Dumervil, etc pounding the hell out of the opposition. You are giving bulletin board material to the Broncos. I was hugely wrong about this team and that Ex Patriot McDaniels (tough to even say that name, ugh) and I have seen the light. I think the Chargers were backed against the wall on Monday Night and we saw what happened then. Your words will come back in bite you in the butt. Trust me on this, I know. :)

I have no problem with him picking the Ravens to win. They are a good team and they are playing at home. But the Broncos soft? That's just dumb. They are playing great on D and they are really getting after the quarterback. Calling the Broncos soft shows a lack of football knowledge.
I really don't think the Ravens having their backs up against the wall really means anything. There are always teams with their backs against the wall, and a lot of those teams go out and lose. There's a reason why the Ravens have their backs against the wall. It's because they have some issues. Those issues may cost them to lose this game. They really need a win here more than the Broncos, but I don't believe that that really helps any team out. The Broncos will be just as motivated to win this game as the Ravens.

ok I will say this up front yes I am a bronco fan. also yes I agree there is a chance denver will lose there is always that chance, but to say that the ravens will win just because there backs are against the wall is crazy talk. And for those that think denver is just getting lucky or have not played a real team just keep thinking that and when denver ends up being 13-3 or better and in the playoffs then maybe you might pull your head out of the sand. then again maybe not. whos to say what will happen

Mike - who is your dealer and are they taking on new clients?
Posted by: Tom | October 29, 2009 8:23 AM
Orton is a lot closer to Quinn/Anderson than to Favre/Palmer/Brady/Rivers. Ravens D will hold their own this week. As for the O, well, with Mike Nolan at the helm, you have to believe that this is not the same frothy Orange Julius defense of the past. Nevertheless, the Ravens' O will outplay the Broncos' O. Ravens win.
Posted by: brwils | October 29, 2009 10:48 AM
I'd take 7-0 soft. They have confidence; we're trying to relocate it. Both teams are tan rested & ready. Glad we play them here (oxygen!). They have the edge at DC; hopefully Mattison got some shock therapy over the bye. Our corners are outgunned again, but unless he gets 5-6 seconds to throw Orton is not yet a Favre, Brady, nor a Palmer. Our 1st OL will be back together. Let's stuff the run, get some turnovers and good returns, and don'yt let it come down to Hauschka. Beat Denver!

To all you Ravens Haters, they will be ok. Mike you were so right, Denver is Soft and it showed and there record will change down the stretch.
