Another rumor: Patriots' Galloway to Ravens
Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network is linking the Ravens to a possible trade for New England wide receiver Joey Galloway.
There is some history here because Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome has made deals with Patriots coach Bill Belichick in the past. But the Ravens could just wait to see if the Patriots release Galloway, who has been a disappointment this season (seven catches for 67 yards and no touchdowns).
As of Friday, a team source said the Ravens didn't expect to make any trades before Tuesday's NFL deadline.

Oh boy, a washed up Galloway who hasn't done anything in the NFL in two seasons. Hey Ozzie, how about doing something positive for the receiving corps, and get someone like Bowe from KC, who would actually make a difference, instead of picking up washed up players in the twilights of their careers? Seriously, common sense dictates Galloway isn't the answer. Hell, even TO would be substantially better than Galloway due to his size, and ability to draw coverage. WAKE UP Ozzie.

No thank you, he stinks!
Posted by: joc | October 18, 2009 11:25 AM
and how would that improve the team?
Posted by: mozman | October 18, 2009 12:20 PM
Would rather have someone that would patch up our db's.

We don't need a WR we need real NFL corners.

Matt Jones...He could be our Michael Irvin. Doesn't require a draft pick trade. He's a huge red zone threat, 1st round draft pick, and fast.
Just keep him from Baltimore Street and we'd have our #1 receiver.

we dont need wide receiver help... he is washed up anyway... corners please!!!!!
Posted by: Lee | October 18, 2009 4:48 PM
Yep just what the Ravens need another #3 receiver.

Here is an idea Newsome. Try trading for a cornerback!
Posted by: Thomas | October 18, 2009 4:55 PM
Why all this talk about wide receivers? How about trading for some DB's? Ed Reed is the only one on this team that can play. Foxworth, Fabian Washington, Carr, Landry and especially Frank Walker, are all mediocre at best. Walker isn't even mediocre. The offense can score; the db's can do nothing but get called for pass interference and allow TD's.

That is like Newsome , bring in another bum like Tyree who is playing the hurt game already! Can Galloway play corner?

I don't know what these fans are complaining about...if you put Galloway in as a cornerback for the Ravens he'd be a marked improvement over the guys we currently have. I say trade for him!

Lord I hope not. In a few weeks the wind gusts will be so high that it won't matter anyway.

Not sure why we keep saying or trying to improve the WR position because we are doing fine in that aspect. Example today!!!!!!!!!!! It's the damn secondary and HORRIBLE Frank Walker that keeps losing us games. He is absolutely pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Todd D. | October 18, 2009 6:39 PM
What, can Galloway play corner?
Posted by: Brandon | October 18, 2009 6:54 PM
Forget the receivers... go get corner help!
Posted by: Geo Guru | October 18, 2009 7:34 PM
Shouldn't we be more concerned about the secondary than the receivers at this point? Receivers played okay today (I only saw highlights).

Give the Pats whatever they ask for Joey. With him, the Ravens are guaranteed to be playing in February
Posted by: Rich | October 18, 2009 8:45 PM
20 receptions in two seasons and 38 years old. Please No!!!
Posted by: nick in fla | October 18, 2009 8:49 PM
Trade Foxworth and Walker for him.
Posted by: bruce | October 18, 2009 9:20 PM
If the guy can't make plays for a team that has Moss and Welker to take pressure off of him, he's not making plays in Baltimore where he'll draw more pressure. No way!
BRING IN BOWE!!!!!
AND A FRACKIN CB!!!!!!!!!!

Oh GOD no. I'm with DG on this one, Galloway is washed up. I'm happier with Clayton/Washington/Williams than I would be with him.
Posted by: Vincent | October 18, 2009 10:33 PM
Why another WR? Didn't we just sign Tyree? We need help on the defense which is why we lost the last 2 games.
Posted by: BK | October 18, 2009 10:36 PM
Anyone who saw Bowe play today vs. Redskins would not be pushing to get him. He dropped balls, short-armed several passes, and worst of all made a potenially serious error by pointlessly runnning OB to stop the clock in the final 2 minutes when Washington was out of timeouts. This gave the Skins a chance to get the ball back in the final minute. A really dumb play.
Ravens need a CB, not a WR.

another trade for the great and poweful oz what a joke
Posted by: Anonymous | October 19, 2009 8:47 AM
...then let's trade Flacco to St. Louis for Kyle Boller
Posted by: ravenczar | October 19, 2009 12:44 PM
Can we please combo that trade and add a LARGE pass rusher and a side of cornerbacks??
Posted by: mikeyp | October 20, 2009 2:13 PM
When it all comes down to it this is jobs for these men this is all they know they caint do anything else. it doesnt matter who they get the Ravens arent going to the super bowl so why even worry about who the team has.
