Signing Oher allows Ravens to give him more reps
It was a good move by the Ravens to reach an agreement with first-round draft pick Michael Oher.
The offensive tackle out of Mississippi may have missed two days of practice with the rookies, but he should start practicing with the veterans on Friday.
Getting Oher into camp on time should have been a priority for the Ravens, especially since he is expected to start at right offensive tackle. With Oher in camp, he should be ready to play all the preseason games and not miss any practice time. He can also get his timing down with the rest of the offensive linemen, which is critical for any offense.
By getting Oher into camp basically on time, Oher gets to spend more time with offensive line coach John Matsko, who did an outstanding job of building the Ravens offensive line a year ago.
In a year or two, the Ravens have enough talent and athleticism to have one of the most dominating offensive lines in the NFL.

Wow...great obersvation Mike. I never would have though signing Oher whould have given him the opportunity for reps. How about you talk about when Ozzie is going to pull the trigger for Marshall.

Mike, do you think the coaches are likely to give Oher more time out on the field during the preseason games than the rest of the starters? I'll be at the Washington game and I'd love to see him play for 2-3 quarters.

The future of the OL is looking great. Now all we need is someone for Flacco to throw to with all of the time he'll have.
Mike, any reason why the Ravens have shown zero interest in Matt Jones?

I agree 100% Mike. If Yanda can make a full recovery, we're going to be young, nasty, and talented for a decade.
Looking forward to seeing Flacco develop while being allowed to remain upright.

T.J., the reason the Ravens haven't expressed interest in Matt Jones is because he is an IDIOT. No way does that guy fit our profile. And I have to laugh at all the talk on ESPN about the Ravens' supposed "confirmed" interest in Michael Vick. They're interested alright; interested in that guy NOT being on their team. PASS!
