Ed Reed update
Ed Reed, who was placed on the physically-unable-to-perform list Thursday, is practicing with a red jersey today. That means no contact for the Pro Bowl safety.
Second-year safety Haruki Nakamura is filling in for Reed in team drills.
The Ravens can take a player off PUP throughout the preseason. If a player is on the PUP list at the start of the regular season, he must miss at least the first six weeks of the season.
The players currently on the Ravens' PUP list are: wide receivers Kelley Washington (flu) and Yamon Figurs (foot); Marshal Yanda (knee); cornerback Samari Rolle (groin and shoulder); offensive tackles Adam Terry (knee) and Joe Reitz; and linebacker Jason Phillips (knee).

this will be an exciting year to watch, and i am still of the mind that Derek Mason WILL be catching missles from Joe cool by the time the regular season comes around. Mason is doing what many veterans have resorted to as of late, which is miss the abuse that summer training camp exacts upon you, without having your toughness questioned.
as for Reed, i think this guy will go down as one of te biggest "what if" guys in the history of the NFL. as great a player as he is, can you only imagine how much BETTER his numbers would be if he hadn't been playing (essentially) his entire pro career with this shoulder/neck nerve issue getting in the way? it seems like he plays the final 10 games of every season in terrible pain, and he's still a total monster in centerfield.
PREDICTION: 11-5

Jamison - are their restrictions on what you can and can not do while on the PUP list? Does not seem fair that the Ravens can put him on PUP list (and thus open another spot) if he is doing everything but hitting people.

Figurs is going to make it ez for his competition to beat him out this year. He is already a long shot to make the team.
