Big crowd for first day

The Ravens had an announced crowd of 11,078 at the first day of their training camp, which ranks as one of the biggest openings in team history.

"The place is absolutely stuffed," coach John Harbaugh said. "I remember standing behind that live drill and looked up and saw them in levels behind here on the steps. The guys are excited about that. It makes it more fun to get out here."

it was ridiculous. its supposed to be a family event but god forbid you put one of your kids on your shoulders so they can see. thats a no no, even if no one is behind you.

and if ray lewis comes out for autographs, you need a steel cage to protect your children from the grown men AND women acting like complete animals over an autograph. my 3 year old niece was nearly trampled by the stampede of lunatics.

they need to do away with the bs "bring your own chair so you can take reserve your spot" nonsense. its like 5 rows of chairs that no one sits in taking up space. so if i come early i can just set some chairs up front, come back 3 hours later and ill have a front row pass for the entire day. then when the chairs have to be put away its like a free for all to get your spot for an autograph.

it was insane today. ill be skipping the first day of full practice next year, thats for sure. the security needs to do a better job of organizing and controlling the crowd. it takes away from the fun of going to camp.

Yeesh, I'm glad I didn't go. Awesome for the Ravens that there were so many there. I can't help but wonder how the Orioles feel knowing that more people showed up to Ravens training camp (a practice) than some Orioles games...

Brings back a lot of memories. We used to go to Training Camp awhile back; before it became more crowded. It's great, crowded or not. A really fun day for kids.

I was at the pratice this morning and the crowd was large and electric. I did not like some of the language that was used with the number od children that was present, other then that it was great. I am looking forward to this season.

The recession means more unemployed people who don't have to work on Friday.

I am so jealous of those people right now!
