Marshall talks ... but not about his future

At his youth football camp Thursday, disgruntled Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall declined to answer questions about his status with the team or a possible to trade to another one.

The Ravens, who have not engaged in trade talks for Marshall, have been linked to him.

“I think we saw this past year as far as change, as for changes in our front office. Coach (Mike) Shanahan being here 13 years. Gone! I think that’s part of life. You know it’s just change,” Marshall said.

“You can control what you can control and what you can’t control you don’t worry about. So I’m here to show my wisdom, to give wisdom and get a feel for the kids.”

Keep an eye out so the creep doesn't beat up the kids too..........

Some say Marshall's off-field incidents, most involving fighting with his former girlfriend, may be her fault. However his latest incident involves fighting with his new fiancee. The common thread is Brandon Marshall. He's trouble. And he's coming off hip surgery. And he's facing an upcoming trial which, if convicted, likely means a second NFL suspension in just over a year. And still 62.7% of readers think the Ravens should acquire him? What are you all thinking? The Raven's receiving core is not that bad. And Marshall is too big a risk. We're not the Cincinati Bengals. We're the Ravens.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no to Brandon Marshall.

Is Barandon Marshall claiming to possess wisdom? Now that's funny! I

trouble with the law and now a disgruntled NFLer? Probably not the right person to "give wisdom" to kids

Sooo you guys must have been saying no, no, no, no, no to Ray Lewis when he was in trouble with the law, right?? Same with Jamal Lewis??

Marshall would make the team better, and the offense more potent. I think it's a no brainer. You gotta make an effort.

Steve O you clearly missed the point of what Paul is saying. We didn't trade to get Ray or Jamal, we already had them so the ravens were forced to deal with the drama. As of right now Marshall is the Broncos problem and quite frankly neither Ray nor Jamal had any previous issues or any issues to follow. Marshall has had quite a few off the field incidents. Totally different cases.

there's only 1 area of weakness on this team and only 1 position that hasn't been addressed this offseason. And now another opportunity to upgrade the depth at wide receiver has presented itself, if the ravens fail to take advantage of this come january when we get knocked out of the playoffs early the finger will be pointing right to this period of time. when opportunity knocks you better....you know the rest. Many pro bowl veterans looking to be moved, one of the deepest draft classes at the position, plenty quaility WR (plex, harrison, jones) still out there now another pro bowler in b-marshall available. I don't care who or about the how just upgrade the position please!!! as it stands right now the only move we have made is to sign kelly washington.

can you imagine the squeelers defense with marshall and mason on the opposite side of the offense and clayton in the slot and at tight end either heap or l.j. smith and ray rice in the back field and our defense and improved o linedare i say super bowl

I agree with Paul. The Ravens organization is certainly in a position to be patient. If Ozzie takes a risk on a talent with such baggage, it will be extraordinary, and this thug is not.

i agree with ramon. this guy has his issues but who cares. i havent heard about him having any on the field issues and thats all i care about as a fan. if he can produce touchdowns and make our receiving corps look like the rest of the leagues than who cares what he does in the privacy of his own home. some of you guys need to watch soap opera's cause your full of drama.

Who did B Marsh Have at Denver to mentor and to drop some knowledge about life into him. The Ravens got Ray Ed And OJ Brigance to get the big young fella situated

at first i was leery also about him,but after a little more resarch GET HIM he is the total package and he is young. Hey its time to get a star on offense,we have none. we have to keep up in the afc.everyone knows that were running the ball.teams will be ready for joe this yr. I say go for it.

25 year olds make mistakes, not just ones named Brandon Marshall. You can teach 25 year olds not to make bad decisions. You cannot teach them to be 6 foot 4 and 230 pounds and a proven NFL quality WR. Bring they guy in and let Ray and Birk take him under their wing. He's the final ingredient in making this an elite team. Give them Demetrius Williams and whatever else they want.

Everyone on this site is just the perfect saint. Just bring the kid to BMore and let R. Lewis and D. Mason school him about the does and don'ts off the field. Don't let this one slip by. Give Flacco a young grade A receiver to grow with. Could be a Manning to Harrison combination?

It is time for Ozzie to pull the trigger on a big-time reciever and give our offense the weapons it needs to be the most successful it can. I know this guy has been in legal trouble but I think the risk-reward is worth it to take a chance on him, especially if we can sign him to a one year deal then offer him an extended contract if we see him maturing.

I hate when people insist a team is one player away from a Super Bowl because no team is only one player away from a Super Bowl so I am not going to insist that all the Ravens need to do to win it all this year is upgrade at WR (like I hear many fans and media people claiming). What I do know is that adding Marshall could lead to the creation of one of the most dominant QB-WR combinations in the NFL for the next 5,6,7, years and to me that (given the quality of our draft and off-season moves which solidified many short term needs) makes it worth it to take a risk on Marshall, a risk that could land the Lombardi Trophy in Baltimore in the near future.

How Hypocritical would it be to not sign Terrel Owens one of the NFL's all time great receivers..... and then sign Brandon Marshall who also has behavioral issues and is not as good....the job of a GM is to make the team as good as possible and give it the best chance to win the superbowl..... not to assemble a team of saints....all have sinned...these are football players not Catholic Priest.......

The Ravens have one big round left in the chamber.Ray,Trevor,Derrick are all in the twilight of their careers. We have a chance to nail at least one more Super Bowl while they are still here and possibly more after those guys are gone if luck is on our side.Adding a QUALITY RECEIVER would be nice ,but at what cost if he is self centered?Remember, when we got rid of McAllister,we made huge strides in the win column. The locker room plays a huge part in success. The huge ego type of player is a real cancer if not put in check by the coaches and the leaders of the team. Can Marshall play within the team concept ?

I would like to hear what the Ravens have to say about Brandon Marshall. After all they are the ones that are going to be playing with him.

Let Me tell You ALL Something.......Baltimore's History is Built by the Tuffest People plagued by "Abstract" Conduct and Behavior's. "Welcome to Baltimore"
Brandon !

Bring Brandon to Bmore. Its not like he is a team wrecker t.o. He is perfect fit at wr. We need to take advantage of this oppurtunity. He will b just fine in bmore. The sun shoot down boldin and are now shooting down marshall. Marshall is a better fit than boldin just do it i want another superbowl b4 ed and ray retire.

There are as many "bad" boys who didn't pan out as made it. If Marshall faces some jail time, why bother pursuing him? Have the Ravens written off Demetrius Williams, one of the fastest WRs I have seen wear a Ravens uniform?

The hell with all that, trade for Fitzgerald, you should go after the best
