Raiders take DHB

Oakland coach Tom Cable phoned Darrius Heyward-Bey minutes ago to tell him they would take him with the seventh pick. The room erupted when Roger Goodell made the announcement, and Darrius quickly pulled on a Raiders cap.

"I'll see you in Oakland," Heyward-Bey told Cable on his cell phone, then turned and hugged Devard Darling.

As a Maryland and Ravens fan, I'm happy for a class act like DHB to be drafted this high. Best of luck to DHB!

Crazy he went before Crabtree.

Good for him. He'll be missed at UM! Class act all around.

I wanted the Ravens to take him but I'm happy for him personally. Hope he does well for them.

Brilliant! This is the reason why the Raiders have been in the top of the standings over recent years.

Hopefully, Devard Darling is just a friend and not his wide receiving teacher.

Thank you Raiders for drafting Bey , this pick is the reason why Raiders draft # 7 every year .
We were worried Ozzie might get blinded by Bey's 4.30 40 .

i agree with a lot of the comments. I am stoked he did not fall to Baltimore because i don't want a guy that is only fast but doesn't have great hands or great route running skills. Is this the worst first two picks of all time in a draft from a draft day prospective? They could have traded back for Bey and gotten more picks and they could have waited a few rounds for the safety from Ohio. I saw the interview of Tom Cable and he said he was shocked Bey and the safety both dropped to them when they did, he thought he would have to trade up to get them. WORST franchise in sports right now for sure. I think Davis has lost his mind.
