Who will step up for Ravens to win?

For the Ravens to win tomorrow, they are going to need another offensive player to step up other than quarterback Joe Flacco and receiver Derrick Mason.

Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz is going to throw a lot at Flacco, and he will also probably try to take Mason out of the game. Schwartz was in Tennessee when Mason was there, so they are familiar with each other. The Ravens will try to pound the ball, but the Titans have a big, strong defensive line. Pounding a big back like Le'Ron McClain won't be enough.

Between tight end Todd Heap, receiver Mark Clayton or running backs Willis McGahee or Ray Rice, one of them has to have a big game.

HEEEEEAP !

We need ray Rice to step up bad.
He is rested, healthy and hungry to make a difference in this ballgame. While the titans have been preparing to stop our bruising running game of McLain and Mcgahee, it would be a great move to hit them with some screens and swing passes in the flats to Rice. A bomb to Clayton would be nice too but not at the expense of throwing a costly pick.

The Ravens need to utilize all three running backs especially Ray Rice out of the backfield. He is a fantastic speed demon with great hands and excellent vision. Let the Titans front 7 bring all the pressure they want, they just play right into the Ravens hands by playing to Rice's strengths......delayed handoffs. I don't know what it is but look at the tapes, the guy is 100% effective when given the ball against the QB's right hand side.

Do the Titans play cover-2? If so, then it has to be Heap. Otherwise, Clayton could double move on their aggressive secondary if they use play action.

Clayton or Willis

I think it will be McGahee. I still think he is the most talented RB on the team.

don't worry preston, they will.

Mike, McGahee has been running the ball well lately, do you think the Ravens should give him more carries? I think his runnining style might be more effective than Mclain's north and south style.

Heap, McGahee, and Ray Rice combined will have to be that element. The Titans primarily rush 4 (D-Line) and get tremendous pressure allowing the LBs and DBs to zone (see the first game) cover. The Ravens will have to throw underneath to the TE and RBs and get some decent YAC so the chains can keep moving. If the Ravens are able to keep the chains moving by going underneath, it may create cover 1 or cover 0 opportunities late in the game for Clayton and Mason. All of this combined controls the clock, get points, allow for one or two big plays, wins the game, and then we can finally focus on the AFC Championship Game!

Little Ray.

I say Clayton. After re-watching the Dolphins game, Flacco came VERY close to hooking up with Clayton on those double moves. At the very least it will keep the corners from jumping short routes on third down.

The problem with all of those you mentioned is that each one seems to have a fumble or two waiting to happen...with the possible exception of Clayton.

I think if Heap doesnt step up on saturday he may not be back next year!

As long as they can keep Chris Coleman from blocking 2 Kyle Richarson Punts, They'll be fine.Look for Del Greco to miss a couple of field goals, Derrick Mason will not be effective as a punt returner and will take a big shot from Billy Davis. The Young man from Tuskegee Institute will make a big play [90 yards or so ]and There may be a 50 yard interception return by a pretty good linebacker for his first NFL touchdown. Robert Bailey and James Trapp are excellent nickels. If only Shannon Sharpe could catch more than 2 passes a game,He drops alot of passes....although he makes the crucial catches...Look for Dainon Sydney to make a bonehead play ....and will someone please block Randall Godfrey.....and keep Harbaughs face and comments off the titans soreboard.

look for the no huddle and unbalanced line to be used together throughout the first half wearing down that jumbo d-line, 1/2 of which is returning from injury. all that sets up for some things to open up in the 2nd half, big rushes up the middle, rice getting loose on the outside (via screen if the titans front 4 tries to bring any pressure up the middle) and deep playaction to clayton. if the titans lb's help the tired DT's clog up the middle, expect the ravens to notice that they aren't staying at home and to hit heap on 6-12 routes over the center and slants to mason and clayton.

the weaknesses in the titans defense are there with the DT's not being in game shape. it just needs to be set up by going no huddle in the 1st half, esp. if used with an unbalanced line. then in the 2nd half using tricks and personal packages that you didn't even show in the 1st half, leaving the titans tired and unable to make as many adjustments as they'd be able to at halftime.

I think it'll be Mark Clayton. Flacco and Clayton almost connected on a couple DEEP passes last week. Connect on one or two of those and it could be the difference in the game

Joe Cool will step up. The running game will step up. Mark Clayton and D-Mase will step up. Why settle for just one particular player? The Ravens will "step up", "be up", and "raise up."

And then of course, there is always my "BIG BANG" Baltimore defense, that will finalize things and "blow up" that Tennessee offense when everything is all said and done.

Ravens 28-16.

I predict the Ravens win it late, 17-13, on a TD pass from Troy Smith to Edgar Jones (the play they practiced at the end of the Jacksonville game) after a scrambling Joe Flacco gets knocked out of the game on an uncalled illegal helmet-to-helmet hit by Cortland Finnegan.

There is no one in the Raven's organization that is up to the task. The Titan's will win hands down!

I think people put too much stock in knowing a former player. Any team that is playing the Ravens in the playoffs knows that Mason is going to be the receiver that they need to stop. They will all be trying to "take him out".

Matt Stover and Todd Heap should appear big this game.Willis should look to cut to the outside and make his yardage.Joe Cool might have to take some sacks to avoid losing the football for us.All this said,we need some drives going to rest the D for awhile. Our offensive line has really been coming on,lately,so I hope they become the MVP'S of the game.

Winds will be blowing from west up to 20 mph. Home side stadiujm structure will deflect most of the wind, but still do not expect as many FGs or post patterns. Do not expect to see your friend Del Grecco. Look for me at the visitors tunnel showing love for Ray and waving my 'love ya blue' oilers throw back towel. The nation seems to fired up about the Ravens. I am not impressed. Pennington? Please. He was not even recruited by Fulmer at UT. Granted, it will be a good defensive game. Titans 17 Ravens 10.

We got here as a team and we will win this game as a team with everybody contributing. We can not win without, special teams, our offensive line, our defense, our running game, our passing game, and our coaching staff. Yes we will need it all. They sound ready and after all this wonderful season, I am a believer. GO YOU BALTIMORE RAVENS, GO !!!

The guy that needs to step up is Cam, his play-calling will be the determining factor. I didn't like the plays called in Miami, and with 5 takeaways it "absolutely" should have been a rout.

Running right at the Titans won't work, the front seven is too tough. They also have ball-hawking playmakers in the secondary. Timing and deception will be key.

Cam will have to find and exploit the weak links in the Titans' underarmour - or we're toast.
