Flacco not buying into QB cliche
One of the best things you learn to like about Joe Flacco is his honesty. He didn't play well yesterday, and of course people pointed out how he managed the game well.
Huh?
"I'm not going out there and trying to just manage the football, I'm going out there and trying to make plays," Flacco said.
Thanks Joe. He gets it. Great quarterbacks make plays, and Flacco has made them during the final stretch of the regular season. After every game he has struggled this season, he has always come back with a good performance.

Mike,
Don't you think its easier to be honest when you have the ability to make plays vs. say Kyle and his happy feet?

Sometimes you win because of what you DON'T DO. That was what Joe had to do yesterday and it worked. If he had thrown 4 picks like Chad did the Ravens would not be going to Tennessee.

Mike
What this young man is trying to do is such a hard thing. That he knows where he is and what is expected of him is really refreshing. No fooling himself or you or the fans. The more you see of this kid the more there is to like.

OK,Mike, why don't YOU tell him he played like crap and put that into a column? And how does the opponent beat the Ravens offense? Are you really in Baltimore or locked out of the Castle these days?

Mike, we know Flacco has the arm,and our line will give him a few opportunities; are there any corners on the Titan's that Clayton can exploit on his come back week?

Everything about Flacco is refreshing from his candor to his demeanor. The guy was "born" to play quarterback, but even the best of them have off days. However, even on his worst day, he's better than what we had become accustomed to on a regular basis in recent years!

No sweat Trent. Just get us a ring. You can be a superstar next year.

Not only HONEST but like a sponge. I have never seen anyone learn like he has. Oh, what the next couple years will be like...............finally a franchise QB

How in the world can you say he had a bad game? 27-9, are you kidding me. He threw great, he ran great, and he made all the right plays. Moved well in the pocket, no fumbles or interceptions. Yes he over threw all his long passes. Good he can complete them this week when we will really need them. Joe Flacco looked fantastic, and more importantly he looked like he belonged as Q-B of the Ravens.

Sorry he didn't play poorly, he just wasn't flashy and he sure didn't set the field on fire. He also didn't fumble, get picked, trip over his own feet or panic.
He did manage the game and we managed to win. It wasn't pretty - seems when the Ravens ARE on their game it's never pretty.
Rookie yera the kid gets an "A" , from me. Win or lose Sat - we finally have a QB.
I'm hoping Joe will step up big time Sat, it's gonna be a tough one.

Flacco's greatness is in his intelligence, poise, and decision-making. Sure, his statistics didn't look impressive, but watch how many times receivers weren't open and he just threw away the ball. While the sportswriters seem to be concerned about statistics, Flacco seems to be more concerned about winning. Four interceptions with more passing yards, like Chad, lost Miami the game. I will gladly take Flacco's line, with the bottom line: a win.

Ironic that the Rookie of the Year is watching the playoffs from home while Joe Flacco (Bad Game and All) is still playing!

Flacco played great on Sunday. Not flashy, but, darn well enough to win. No unexpected surprises like fumbled snaps, tripping over someone's foot, or letting the play-clock run out. The draw he scored on was his own call. He has a brain to go along with his arm and legs.
He's humble but yet confident. There's nothing not to like about him. Ryan is good, but, I'll take Flacco any day of the week over him. There will come a time when we will need his big-time arm to win a game and that's when we'll realize that no one other than maybe Cutler can make throws like Flacco.
And while we can thank Atlanta for picking Ryan, lets not forget to thank Jerry Jones for steering Jason Garrett to Detroit.

He didn't play poorly, he wasn't outstanding by any means but he did well enough. His completion percentage was down but he didn't turn the ball over, made some great throws, and scored a rushing TD. For a rookie QB making his first playoff start on the road, I think he did pretty well.

Being a Dallas Fan, I am on the Ravens bandwagon this playoffs. I have a gut feeling Joe Flacco and the Ravens defense will win a Super Bowl. You all beat Pittsburgh twice...I know it's going to be a tough game, but the Ravens defense plays with passion, determination, and hard fought football EVERY PLAY....along with Flacco's offensive precision...rarely turns the ball over and makes play when it needs to be done. Ravens defense will stop Big Ben...I know the Steelers defense is waiting but Flacco knows what to do....Go Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens...all the way!!
