Billick a hot coaching commodity?

During the final games of the 2007 season, Brian Billick supporters often claimed that if Billick got fired, he would have a new job in five minutes. I've heard rumors of him being in the hunt for the Detroit job, but none of the others in Cleveland, New York or Denver.

Maybe Billick has decided he wants to stay in TV, or maybe he wants another year off. Who knows? But I assumed he'd be in the running somewhere.

And I am proud to announce the lion's new starting quarterback....................KYLE BOLLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

billick isnt going to do anything until hisa 5 mil a year contract is up. he isnt that stupid...

Scott Bailin, LMAO!

Ahhh, a fitting resting place for the "Brangelina" couple of the NFL.

Brian may be the type that needs to get back in fast. His performance was up and down with a team full of all pros and a solid front office. However the opportunity needs to be similar to the Ravens. A team needing an organizer and motivator is the best chance for success. But if they need a hard driving, x and o's creative type Brian might want to keep decorating that mansion on the shore(or have another beer with Nestor)Now that is true just rewards.

In much the same way that "genius" Mike Ditka owed his success with the Bears to GM Jim Finks, so did "genius" Brian Billick owe his success to GM Ozzie Newsome. And Billick = Ditka. The next team that's moronic enough to hire Billick will realize that.

Detroit being interested in Billick reminds me of Dean Wormer's line to Flounder in 'Animal House': "Drunk, fat and stupid is no way to go through life, son."

Billick would be perfect for a team that's a player away from being in serious contention. To me the Jets fit that category, and don't be surprised if the Vikings get bounced in the 1st round by the Eagles, that they will come calling for Billick.

Brian Billick rode the coat tails of a historic defense. He is simply a used car saleman, and everyone realizes

Brian Billick will never coach again. He is not known to be a defensive coach; and he has had no success as an offensive guru. Therefore, he could only be hired as a field manager. Therefore, I don't think anyone will ever take a chance on him.

Why so many Billick Bashers? Give the guy a break, I dont remember everyone complaining about him during the 2000 season. No disrespect to Oz but Ted Marchibroda couldn't do anything with Oz behind him......Oh how things change.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Compu Coach ended up in Cleveland, forcing the Ravens to deal with his mind games twice a year. Personally I see him waiting for an "ideal" job opportunity. No one wants the Detroit or Oakland jobs.

The Jets job would be brilliant for Billick if not for the entertainment factor. Imagine the war that would ensue between him and the tabloids.

Billick will wait until Childress wears out his welcome in Minnesota or Mike Holgrem takes over as GM somewhere and then he will bolt the Fox announcing both. He will also want to cash his severance checks a little while longer, just to spite Bisco and company. :)

Marchibroda couldn't do anything with the Ravens because the defense was just plain bad. It takes a few years of good drafts and the OZ got us there in 2000. Sorry, IMHO BB was just a cheerleader.

It doesn't do Billick's resume any good that Harbaugh, with a rookie QB and no previous HC experience took basically Billick's personnel, overcame more injuries than Billick had and made the playoffs.

His luster has been compromised.

WHOA the HATERS are out Full force........

let's see, he's collecting $5m/yr severence, a six figure salary tv gig for a few hrs/wk and wants to go back to head coaching for 80 hrs/wk and the press & fans climbing down his throat?. Is he nuts?

Billick will get a job as soon as he wants one. He turned the Ravens from a losing team into a superbowl winner, and now harbaugh continues to enjoy the fruits of billicks labor with the ravens back in the playoffs.

Superbowl winning coaches don't have trouble finding work.

I wish BB the best of luck and fortune in the future.Would I give up an easy 5 mil. to do nuthin'?Do I have to answer that?PS-Please take your plans to the NFC,Brian.(remember the Vickings org?)

I just hope that whoever hires him is looking to sit in the lower bowels of the NFL when it comes to offensive production. The guy will put shackles around the offensive coordinator and call for 2 quick runs of the middle followed by a screen to a receiver behind the line of scrimage. We were all in awe of his intellect so much, as well as the fact that a Baltimore had a Super Bowl winner that we didn't realize that we were being swindled.

He was no better for the Ravens than Joe Altobelli was for the O's. Both of them rode the coattails of other men in order to win. Yeah, let him go to the Lions. The last thing that they need is a "camp creampuff".

The reality is that Billick hid behind offensive coordinators for 9 years. It doesn't take 9 nine years to organize an offensive identity. It just doesn't. Plus, the reality is that the Ravens won the Super Bowl in spite of Billick being there, not BECAUSE of Billick. There was a period when the Ravens didn't score an offensive touchdown in 6 games in 2000!! But they won a majority of them because of the defense. Billick is trash and I realized that when Cavanaugh got fired and our offense was even worse than it was when he was there in 2004. That let me know right then and there that it was Billick calling the shots all along. Whoever is silly enough to hire him will have their fans in agony for years to come.
