Rex Ryan more likely to stay than go

It's starting to get to that point in the season where we hear rumors about head coaches getting fired, but I'm not hearing any involving Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan replacing anybody.

It's still early.

In the past two years, you could sense that Ryan was interested, but I'm not so sure that his interest is as great anymore. Ryan seems to be enjoying his time with the Ravens, and appears content working with the present staff. I'm sure if the right job opened he would listen, but I think he is more likely to stay than in previous years.

For some of you folks who thought I was saying that Troy Smith should be the quarterback over Joe Flacco, well, you're making a mistake. I was answering a question in a reader Q&A and stating that Smith should be a quarterback, not a receiver. I wasn't suggesting he be the No. 1, but that he remain a quarterback instead of moving him to receiver.

He already is a head coach -- it's not like Harbaugh has any power over him. When is the press going to realize that the current Ravens make-up is exactly what Angelos has been doing to Oriole managers? Cam Cameron and Rex Ryan are nothing more than Ray Miller and Terry Crowley -- assistant coaches forced upon the head coach by the owner.

They're two of the best football minds in the league...and Harbaugh is happy to have them. You have no idea what you're talking about, because Harbaugh asked Rex to come back.

So true. Harbaugh did ask Rex to stay.

cam cameron and rex ryan are in no way, shape or form similar to ray miller and terry crowley. jim harbaugh brought in cam cameron, who he has been close to ever since he coached under him at indiana and harbaugh asked rex ryan to stay because he knew he was the best man for the job.

Good Lord.

Forced upon him by the owner?! Harbaugh is probably ecstatic beyond belief with these two guys. We've got a rookie HC, rookie QB, 16 guys on IR and yet we're still in the playoff hunt!

Ryan and Cameron are doing wonders and I'm sure Harbaugh would agree.

Brenie you are either a very naive and ignorant football fan or you are just trying to stir the pot. Ryan stayed at the request of Harbaugh and Cameron came at the request of Harbaugh. Do you really think Biscotti is cut from the same mold as Jones in Dallas and Snyder in DC? As McCain would say "your oblivious my friend"

Throwing out a couple names...

Tom Moore
Dick Lebeau
Jim Schwartz
Monty Kiffin

Some of the best, and most consistent units in the NFL have had longstanding coordinators. It would be great if we could keep our quality coordinators for a long time.

However it came to happen, I'm glad that it did. Please, don't compare Bisciotti to Angelos. As a long time O's fan and Ravens fan, the two teams are nothing alike in the way they are run.
