Ngata deserves Pro Bowl nod

The Ravens have several candidates, but none more deserving than defensive tackle Haloti Ngata. He has been a beast all season.

We really don't need to get into the stats. He can occupy two offensive linemen at once, or constantly gets enough penetration to disrupt any running game. The only tackle in the AFC that might be better than Ngata is the Titans' Albert Haynesworth, so that puts Ngata in pretty good company.

Of course inside linebacker Ray Lewis deserves to be on the team. He has had another great season. When other players his age are slowing down, Lewis has been able to sustain a high level of play.

Receiver Derrick Mason has played well and has virtually been the Ravens passing attack. There are receivers with more speed than Mason, but few who run better pattens. Punter Sam Koch has had an excellent season as well, and outside linebacker Jarret Johnson deserves some kind of mention.

Haloti Ngata is a beast, real run stopper. BTW another great draft pick by Ozzie Newsome. Ray Lewis is having a monster year. I like Sam Koch, his deep punts have made opposing offenses work pretty hard for just field Goals. Also I think Jason Brown should be mentioned as well.

The only kind of mention Jarret Johnson needs is that he blew it on the 1st Jacobs run last week.

Ngata is a beast. However, let the Cowboys worry about the pro-bowls. I would rather be the Giants with no pro bowlers and a super bowl ring.

You might want to include Kris Jenkins in your list of DT that might be better than Ngata.

Chris Jenkins is not better then Ngata..no way!

Peter,

You are crazy ! No way is Jenkins better than Ngata, what games are you watching ?

I've said it before---Ngata is way over-rated---don't argue--just pull up the defensive stats for the whole league---he's not even close. There are six or seven DTs with at least 10 more tackles and seven times his sacks.

and though i usually defer to MPs opinions i don't go for this "occupying" stuff...Ngata's not occupying THEM!...they're occupying him! I don't want him occupied--i want a DT that gets tackles and sacks. On pass plays, the man stands up and hand-jives with the Guard and just keeps looking left and right around the OL's head..

i love the guy...but after seeing him take the "day" off against the midgets last week......he was TERRIBLE!.........maybe next year Mr. Ngata.......

Ok pal here and the stats, now I got these from NFL.com.
