What was Suggs thinking?

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs appeared on ESPN2's "1st and 10" this morning wearing a Yankees cap. Why didn't he just take an Orioles cap, throw it to the ground and spit on it?

There was a big uproar in Cleveland when LeBron James was caught on camera wearing a Yankees cap during an Indians-Yankees game. Suggs' offense isn't that severe, but couldn't one of his peeps tell him to lose the cap before he went on camera?

Somebody had to know how that would play in Baltimore -- and warn him about it.

The only good thing is that it was on "1st and 10," which has about as many viewers as a re-run of "Family Feud" on GSN.

lol, i know. they shouldnt even be allowed to sell yankees apparel in the state of maryland. it makes me sick

Who cares! Last I checked he signed a contract with the Baltimore Ravens, not the city of Baltimore. No one can criticize him for not wanting root for the Orioles. Why would some guy from Arizona want to root for a team that has done nothing but fight for last place since he's been in MD. LeBron and T. Sizzle can root for whoever they want. Last time I checked this is a free country.

You guys take this stuff way to seriously. Who cares what BASEBALL teams hat he has on. Suggs plays football, would you guys blow up if he had and ASU hat on instead of Maryland.

Sadly, if he'd just been spotted at a place like Cross Street Market, yeah people would have noticed, but then thought to themselves "Sigh, it's nowhere close to the 1st Skankees hat I've seen worn around my fair city on a given day."

Shorta that, I dunno, BFD. It's not like he plays for the Orioles or draws a paycheck from them. What if he was wearing a White Sox hat instead? He still plays for and draws his salary from the NFL Baltimore Ravens. That's the team that I root for, and expect him to place allegiance to it while under contract.

Honestly, what is 1st and 10? Is that something with Marks in it. I try to avoid that stuff.

Ehhh. Yankees caps are so common and are almost like a fashion item rather than a show of pride for a team. The more people who wear them, the more they blend in. When I see someone wearing an O's cap on TV or that is not in Baltimore, it definitely stands out more. It would be bad if he was at an O's game wearing that hat, but in general life, who cares. He's from Arizona anyway so he should be wearing a Diamondbacks hat!

It's going to be even worse to see Mark Teixeira in a Yankees cap next year!

doesn't make me angry. he is not an o's fan and the o's have never given him a reason to be. maybe a bad idea on his part though. at least it wasn't a steelers cap.

Arent the orioles the only triple a team in the big leauges anyway. Who cares until Angelos sells or croaks.

Hey,

He has been asked about this more than once. Its not about the Yankees at all. Just a fashion statement. He actually said if the O's had a hat in style like it he would be wearing it instead. They don't so its that.

I can see if we lived in Boston but the orioles come on if they played good or had decent ownership to make them a competitive team then we would have a reason to be upset. I probably would have worn one too. Not to mention it matched his outfit duh.. Grow up the orioles SUCK face it.. GO T SIZZLE

Suggs is a White Sox fan, at least that's what he said on his radio show when they were still in the playoffs.

Newsflash: no one cares

Who cares??

A lot of people wear Yankees hats and dont even root for them, they just wear them because they like the logo. Same thing with the LA Dodgers hats.
It is one thing if
1. The O's were winning
2. He was at an O's playoff game vs the Yankees with the hat on
3. He actually said something bad about the O's

Look the Orioles are boring, there front office sucks as does the team. I would not be surprised if all O's products were on sale at the Inner Harbor. The only reason I go to Camden Yards is to see the other team and because I like the ballpark. I could care less about the Orioles..

"The RANCOR" does as he likes...Those who oppose him are eaten!

Good Lord, this is about a baseball cap??? Why would we want anyone to support the current ownership of local team anyway.

I saw the headline and assumed it was going to be about the fact that Suggs said during an interveiw that the Ravens have a bounty on Hines Ward.

Not that its bad that they have a bounty on the cheap-shot artist extraordinaire, but that he was *stoopid* enough to say it in public so the league can crack down on them and the refs can come into games just looking for reasons to throw even more flags against the Ravens.

yeah, no one cares. Especially if he makes a habit of returning INTs for TDs.

For those of you who say "who cares?", "BFD" or "the Orioles Suck"... must be under the age of 30. For those of us that grew up in Baltimore during the 1960's & 70's, what Suggs did yesterday Stung. I was watching ESPN2 while eating my lunch at work and my jaw dropped. I didn't even pay attention to what he was saying because I was so disappointed in him. I guess I remember when Baltimore athletes actually cared about the City. I can tell you Johnny U and the rest of his boys wouldn't have done that...

Why not mention what the idiot Suggs said on the broadcast? He said that the Ravens have a bounty on Hines Ward and that he wants his boy Troy Smith to start over FLacco. He even went as far as to downplay the first two games that Flacco played saying they were against terrible teams. Add this together with the fact that he basically said the team would quit on Harbaugh if they lost to Miami and I say we get rid of the bum. He's clearly a divisive force in the locker room and wants out of Baltimore.

Frankly, I'm more worried about some of the comments Suggs made in his interview the other day, referring to Flacco as "Shane Falco" and lobbying that Smith should be the starter and that Harbaugh was wrong to declare Flacco the starter.

Suggs has worn a Nationals hat in the past too, its just that stupid trend a lot of people seem to follow. They'll buy every MLB team hat and wear a new one everyday, it's a dumb trend and a waste of money.

I cant believe what you guys are saying about his fat. Grow a pair. If he wants to wear a yankees hat he can. He can even wear a steelers hat. Thats his choice. stop making a big deal out of nothing

Are you kidding with this, who cares??

The Orioles don't care when their own players embarass the city and the fans, why should we. We had Millar running around like a school girl looking like he wanted to tongue kiss Curt Schilling in Boston last yearand then the whole Huff debacle and you want us to care about a Yankee hat.

Please, wake me up when the Orioles are relevant and maybe then I might care.
