The first shot across the bow

Monday’s 23-20 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers didn’t deter linebacker Bart Scott from throwing a jab at Tennessee Titans running back LenDale White.

At 6 feet 1 and 235 pounds, White is a bruiser who does his best work in the red zone, where he leads the Titans in touchdowns with five. White shares tailback duties with rookie Chris Johnson, a 5-11, 200-pound speedster who ran the fastest 40-yard dash (4.24 seconds) at the NFL combine in February.

Asked to compare the two, Scott opened up for a few seconds before ending his response with these words: "Let’s see: a fat guy and the fastest guy in the 40. Not fat, I’m sorry. Plump."

Is any one else getting tired of Bart Scott constantly running his mouth? Bart's a very talented LB, but his antics are part of the problem. Monday night showed us that we still lack discipline. Shut up and play!

Could not agree more. Let there be passion, let there be spirit but save the energy. I mean between the constant trash talking and the ridiculous post every play celebrations. C'mon fellas reign it in.

not at all. It's the mid-week trash talking that keeps football interesting. Otherwise, we're just waiting for the weekend!

Bart needs to be quiet. His act is worn out and not interesting or witty or funny. Unlike certain of his teammates, he is a cog that could be replaced without much, if any, drop off in team productivity.

If you need Bart Scott to motivate you before a game why don't we unleash Ray Lewis and really scare the hell out of them?Bart is having some fun and has'nt caused any damage at all.Now if we could only get serious about Hines Ward.......

Just what the Ravens need... to be sending bulletin board material down to an already nasty 4-0 Titans team. Somebody tell Bart we don't need anymore lip from him.

I like Scott's comment. Plus, he has calmed down on the field. If you noticed, he was one of the guys to give J. Johnson a piercing look -- and mutter something to him -- after that costly penalty. Scott seems to be much more under control this year and we would certainly miss him.

Yeah Bart...just suit up and play the game man! Talk is cheap.

You know, I don’t think in the NFL it matters what people say, and I think the concept of bulletin material is BS. Do you really think that a player in the NFL is going to play any harder then if Bart would have not said anything, of course not. The Titians are going to play just as hard regardless of what Bart said. So if Bart wants to kust make some jokes who cares.
