Radio Reed

Fox Sports (1370-AM) will re-broadcast an interview the station conducted with Ravens Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed today between 3 and 4 p.m. It was a candid interview done Monday in which Reed touched on a number of subjects. Reed talks about the first time he felt pain in his neck and how he will re-evaluate his playing status at the end of the season. He also discusses his relationship with cornerback Chris McAlister, McAlister's injury and how the team's front office might have handled the situation differently. Reed also says that the players haven't totally bought into new coach John Harbaugh, and that the rookie head coach might have to make some adjustments in his approach.

Reed also says that the players haven't totally bought into new coach John Harbaugh and that he might have to make adjustments in his approach.Well guess what those players won't be on this team next year, because you can bet your bottom dollar that coach harbaugh knows who they are and as i said way back in training camp he can't get rid of them all at once. On every team when there is a coaching change you are going to have players that still have loyalty to the previous coach and by loyalty in billicks case is the soft training camps and the way he let certain players get away with things . Those days are long gone and so are the players that Ed Reed mentions.I will just name a few, Chris, Heap, willis, Clyaton and maybe Ed himself. Why do you think they drafted the 2 young safeties in this years draft.I promise you harbaugh will surround himself with his type of players that are loyal to him.

Great. Here we go again. Can't we get these players to keep their mouths shut!

Ed, What adjustments should Harbaugh make??? Allowing veterans to run amuck like they are used to?? Sucks having rules and discipline huh?
I love the Ravens (and Ed Reed) and have been a season ticket holder for 10 years, but this is what seems to have been wrong with this team for too long. No discipline. Camp Cupcake.
Now that we get a coach that is going to instill some of this back into the team, veterans that are used to being pampered for all those years do not like it.
Time to clean house??????
Keep up the great work Coach Harbaugh!

It's all about respect. We do have a core group of players that have accomplished some things in this league and care about the team and their performance.

How would you feel if an outsider with no experience came in and told you what you were going to do on your job each day in order to perform better? Never having done the job or even managed the people doing the job before, how accepting would you be?

Harbaugh needs to earn the respect. One way of doing this is to treat the players with respect and listen to them. AKA Coughlin. He could also take a lesson or two from Rex. I've seen Rex chew out a rookie or two but then a few weeks ago I saw him sitting on the bench talking to Ray during the Colts game. Here we were, getting killed by the Colts, but Rex wasn't pointing fingers. He was sitting with his leader trying to figure out together an answer.

Is there a web site I can go to to hear the interview?

That's funny, I never have heard Harbaugh point a finger at anyone. As a matter of fact, it is quite the opposite. I understand and appreciate what you are saying about an outsider coming in, but Harbaugh in not new to coaching or to football so I believe he knows a thing or to and respects the veterans and their situation.
Face it, Billick lost this group and the veterans wanted a new coach but they wanted someone they could push around and control. This team was not Billicks it was Ray's, Ed's, and Cmac's. Not anymore!!!
I was always terrified of losing Ray or Ed, anymore I feel that I would love for them to stay but if this is more about themselves than the Ravens as a team.....good riddance! Although, I do hope they both retire Ravens!
Flacco for President!

These players need to shut up and play!!!!!! Quit the prima donna crying for once!

Ed Reed is an icon, and a proven commodity in this league. Harbaugh is not. Some of you fans are out of control. If Ed says there is a problem, harbaugh would be wise to listen. Indeed, Coach Harbaugh himself knows that he has much to learn as a HC, and key players like Ed Reed are people that should be taken seriously.

Hopefully, both Harbaugh and Reed will rest in the NFL HOF one day, but right now Ed is well on his way, and Harbaugh is not close. I understand you Ed.

Hey don't get me wrong. I'll take Harbaugh over Billick anyday. I'm just not completely sold on him yet.

The two biggest improvements that I have seen are the offensive play calling and the depth. Cam has been a great addition to the team. And the organization has done a great job of going and getting back-ups that can play( ie: cornback, safety, and offensive line). But how would the Ravens be doing under Billick with a new offensive coordinator and having some depth? Who knows. He probably would have left though if they had hired Cam. Because, you know, he is an offensive genius.

I will give Harbaugh credit for having his back-ups ready to play, letting his coordinators coach, more disciplined play, and having his team ready to play each week( except for that Colts game). Just not so sure he can continue to keep the players engaged with his high school "rah rah" banter. We'll see.

Actually Rick, Billick was scheduled to fly to Miami to meet Cameron and offer him the job on the day he was fired. So, it appears that he would have been fine with it.

Cam and Billick together? Never would have happened. Never would have worked.

I'm tired of the crying. Get with the program or get out I say. Sure guys like C-Mac and Ed have been great players, but they're not getting any younger, healthier, or less expensive. If they don't like the way Harbs handles the team, look for another job.
