Spotlight on rookies tonight
Two rookies will play major parts in tonight's game between the Ravens and Steelers, and it couldn't have worked out worse. If you're the Ravens, the worst place to start rookie quarterback Joe Flacco on the road is in Pittsburgh. The Steelers have won six of the past seven games against the Ravens at Heinz Field, and the Steelers have won 13 consecutive home games on Monday night.
The Steelers will start rookie running back Rashard Mendenhall in place of Willie Parker. Parker has been a non-factor against the Ravens, having rushed for 215 yards on 78 carries in five previous games between the two teams. Mendenhall had a fumbling problem in the preseason and now will have to take on the Ravens, who have the No. 1 defense in the league. The Ravens will do a lot of ball hawking tonight.

The skill guys get all the glory but the game is, was, and always will be won on the line, or in the trenches as they say. That is where the Ravens have been dominant so far this year and where the Steelers struggled in the last 2 games.
The Steelers were not nearly as effective blocking the Browns front as the Ravens were, and they allowed a whole lot more pressure on the Qb. With Hampton in the middle they are a different team vs the run, without him Troy P is going to have to stay in the box, and Cam will exploit it as even Billick did in 2006.
Flacco should pass another test tonight because his O line will win another battle, while even with Fast Willy Parker (who was giving up almost no carries to Mendanhal), the Steelers get a whole lot of Nagta when they try to run. With a healthy pass rush and a much better secondary than than last years monday night first half fiasco, the Ravens should be ready to return to the form that was able to dismantle and debale the Steelers on the road and at home 58-7. 24-10 Ravens, and Flacco lets it fly for 2 TDs, Mendanhall gets on the wrong kind of higlights like Winslow did last week.

Flacco is the least of my concerns in this game. This guy is improving by the day and is a gamer-he's ready. We must put Rothlesburger on his back. I feel pretty good about Walters, but Corey Ivy worries me. Our secondary is my real concern.
