No room for premature playoff talk
I understand fans being excited about the Ravens and they have played well considering the circumstances.
But I hope people don't get caught up in all this premature playoff talk. No one expected the Ravens to do well this season, so it's just fun sitting back and watching this team play.
They play smash-mouth football, great defense and are well coached. They aren't doing a lot of trash talking in the locker room and they are buying into the team concept.
I say sit back, watch the games, have some fun and see where this all goes.

Let's not forget the O's 6 - 1 start!

Preston I agree with you for a change but you know how fans are. Fans are fans they go overboard.

Hey, a 6-1 start would be nice for a 17 game season.

We've played 2 games. don't want to hear ANYTHING about the playoffs for anyone, much less the Ravens.

I don't want the Ravens talking about it, but I expect this team to make the playoffs.
They have only played 2 games, but they played very well against teams they were supposed to lose to. 2 division wins is bigger than non, but there is still a long way to go.
I don't think that means I will be further up on the edge of my seat. It just means the Ravens are competiive, and the AFC has never been so wide open to and through to the SB.
It is not like there is an undefeated NE team and a SD and Indy super squads way out ahead of us. From what I have seen from the Ravens so far, I would not think of them as an underdog to anyone in the AFC. They run and play #1 defense. They have veteran players on both sides of the ball and outstanding special teams potential (so far not so much but I still belive in Stover and see Figurs leading the AFC in avg eventually).
Do you think the fans and players in SD are not thinking SB even at 1-2? There is no need to look past Pitsburgh, but if we beat them on the road, there is no doubt that the road to the playoffs in the AFCN goes through Harm City. That is not purple eyed optimism that is the reality of the records if we win.

Championship!

Damn Preston I'm agreeing with you again. I said 8-8 before the season and I'm sticking with that for RIGHT NOW. However, if they beat the Steelers on Monday than I may start have to thinking playoffs.

See what BB has done to brainwash the fans again this year,Mike?Oh,I forgot he's a commentator on tv.A playoff team?Would we have said that about the '58 colts, for instance? That's why you PLAY the game first!

They always win at home. Let's see how Flacco travels. Pittsburgh fans are not very hospitable.

OK, but after we win MNF even you may change your tune.

we have every right to talk playoffs. if we win monday, then obviously we should be thinking even higher. if this team had responsible quarterback play and decent coaching, we'd have been a perennial playoff team....now we do, let's enjoy that.

I expected them to do well, and I still expect them to do well. Not Super Bowl contending well, but our division is looking quite weak this year, I don't think the playoffs are out of the question.

Like the rest of us, I am hopeful of a Playoff run. Over the years, especially since I not only remember going to Baltimore Colts games, as well-as when they used to practice at McDonogh and we students used to catch them for autographs after practice, but because I know how despairing some of these losses can be, please let's not throw the team under the bus should Monday Night not be up to our expectations. This is a team in a major growth phase and has a lot of potential. Let's not dampen it with what has a huge potential for disappointment Monday Night.
Let's stay wacko for Flacco and support this team in the smash mouth manner we Baltimore fans are known for.

If we win on Monday night should we start talking playoffs?
Hell yea! 3-0 against divisional opponents puts the Ravens in a great position to win the AFC north crown. If we win this Monday, playoffs can and should be discussed.

10-6 will get us to the playoffs, I said before the season started and will repeat it as necessary. Not gettin' crazy yet, but what I have seen so far, is more then enough to get excited about playoff possibilities. I love these guys!
!!!!!!!!!!GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!

yadda, yadda, yadda .. always hate fans who say "Now don't get carried away" like they're the voice of reason ...

no chance against Pittsburgh

The Chargers have the curse of Norv. The Colts, Patriots, Steelers and Jags are all on the downslide. The Titans and Bills are pretenders - and everyone else stinks - I don't see why we don't have as good a chance as anyone. If we get in the playoffs - anything can happen!

I predicted 8-8 this year, but I also predicted a 3-0 start (before the Houston game was rescheduled.)
I don't see a win tonight, but this team is a hell of a lot of fun to watch - I think they'll make a game of it. You never know.

I had hoped that our secondary would be healthy enough to contain P-burgh's passing offense, but now am not so sure. Aside from McAllister, I don't feel good about corner coverage on Ward and Holmes. If we can't get consistent pressure on Rawburger, this could be a long night.
