Neal brings attitude to backfield

Doesn't Lorenzo Neal remind you of the Juggernaut character in the X-Men?

Apparently, when he runs on the field with that semi-flexed look, it's a signal for the Ravens' "jumbo package." Kinda cool.

"I can't tell you what the formation is called, but I do give them the Conan look," said Neal, laughing.

The Ravens have been impressed with Neal's work ethic and his power to simply run through or over people.

"I came in here Monday after the game, and he was in the weight room doing rows with 100 pound dumb bells," said Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs. "I said, 'Man, what are you doing? We just had a game yesterday.'"

"I didn't get a chance to play against Sam Gash, but I heard he was a beast," Suggs added. "I've only been hit by two real, legitimate fullbacks. One was Mack Strong, out of Seattle. The other was Zo [Lorenzo]. He hit me so hard one time he knocked my helmet off. We talk about that all the time. I don't know how this guy lasted on the free-agent market."

Fans keep wanting to compare this move to picking up Sam Gash. Gash was 33 when the Ravens picked him up and was a missing piece on a Championship ready team. Sizzle asked why Neal lasted so long on the free agent market...he's 38 freaking years old, that's why. Nobody wanted to give him a multi year deal at that age. His pick up was a stupid short sighted move. He will not be with this team when they are truly ready to contend and he's an overpaid luxury on this team that may finish 8-8 at best. Why not stick with a young guy like Justin Green who at 25 had more of a future with this team than a 38 year old man does.

Lorenzo is the team's best free agent signing since Trevor Price.

The future is always NOW in the NFL. This man has already helped to create a virulant attitude in the offence.

The future is now...So why are the Ravens starting a rookie QB? If the future is now, why didn't they pursue Favre, or Pennington, or Simms? The Ravens can't decide if they are re-building or trying to win now. You can't do both. This is still a team with a lot of holes, don't let 2 wins against 2 bad teams at home fool you. Again, Ill state Lorenzo Neal is a expensive luxury on a 8-8 team. When they ate ready to compete next year, Neal will be giving out smiley face stickers at Walmart.

Charles,
Virulant is spelled v-i-r-u-l-e-n-t and offence is spelled with an "s" not a "c". And you're also wrong in your assesment. Neal is an expensive luxury on a .500 team. It's like having an 8 speaker stereo system on a Yugo.

Except that he isn't expensive...
