It's hard to see Steelers surviving entire season

The Ravens presented the Pittsburgh Steelers with a gift last night, but I don't see Pittsburgh holding up for the rest of the season.

They have a brutal schedule and lost two more key players last night with injuries against the Ravens. I have a hard time seeing Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger playing the rest of the season without an injury.

I can't see the Cincinnati Bengals challenging for the AFC North title, so that leaves only the Ravens and the Cleveland Browns.

It should be interesting.

Are we gonna be able to keep it together health-wise all season? Without a bye week no less? Last night took a toll on both team, I'm sure.

yeha mike the steelers have just as hard schedule as we do in the long run if not harder, so i i think we ar legit team this year and M&T will be fired up against the titans on sunday

Mike, after all of those pessimistic blogs entries leading up to this game, are you insinuating (even a little bit) that the Ravens have a shot at the playoffs?

I thought this was a Ravens blog - it is amazing how things have changed since Billick left - Mikey loves the Ravens now

It will be interesting to see how the Ravens do as follow-up to this game. I know it's early but winning this Sunday gives credibility to last nite's performance and establishes them as a AFC contender. Good times seeing a Raven's/Titans Clash.

Like you watching cameron's offense and play calling has renewed my interest in ravens. Bad news is it makes me realize you were too nice on billick and he needed to be fired years ago.

Thanks! I needed a good laugh today!

Hey Mike - thanks for the gift. Enjoyed it. Except for two games Ravens have the same schedule. Good luck holding up! Here we go Steelers here we go! Ravens suck!

When I saw The Ravens Schedule I Had Them Going 4 And 12.After Last Night I Think They Will Win 10 Games.Flacco Looks Like The Real Deal.

Mike Preston purple kool aid drinker?

I didn't see that coming. ;)

Both teams were battered last night with the Steelers getting the worst of it, no Mendenhall or Simmons for the year. The Ravens have injury issues but it sounds like they expect most of them (Gregg, Rolle, Landry) to be back in a few weeks. McGahee is the only question mark right now, which isn't great, I think the team has enough depth right now to be successful. Anyone know the status of McClain? If he's playing i'm not that concerned at RB.

At the end of regulation the ravens played not to lose. When you do that you rarely win. Why didn't they take some shots down the field instead of those horrible runs that ate up the last minute and a half with no chance to score. If billick had done that he would have been hung. Harbaugh gets a free pass on this?

Never ceases to Amaze me that Squeelers fans feel a need to post here rather than over on a Squeeler blog. Must be nice not having a life huh Squeelies ???

I agree that we are in for a very interesting season. Playoffs are a possibility but I am betting we fall just short in the end.

But the games this year will at least be between two NFL teams unlike most of last year were we looked at times like a JV high school team.

With a good young ex pittsburgh quarterback having a solid game, TOO BAD The Ravens defense always loosens up by the end of every game with their phyical NOT thinking style of football - keep up the hard work!
I'll take a good punch to the gut in return for a win!!! Thanks again!!!

The next 5 weeks for the Ravens will be telling. If they falter like they did last night... a hurt steelers team could take this division.

Another pathetic bunch of underachieving-overtalking, aging thugs.
Fizzled out in 2nd half. Must have gotten tired from all their showboating in the first half--Were'nt playing the clowns or bungles this week.

max deleo...get a life buddy. Uneracheiving? Really...really...really. Wow. Let's see the Ravens sack Dirty Ben 3 times, Ngata gets a pick, and they had very good defensive stops at the goal line. What's with the thug comment. Just because the Ravens lose a game, you all go say these out of whack things. You can't say Ray is one, i don't care what you say. And for you not to like our defense, well i just feel really bad for you. Sorry bro, why don't you right on your little squeelers blogs. Please say something smart next time. Best D in the league and has been for years.

Congratulations on the moral victory. I'll take the actual victory, instead.

It's almost like your're enjoying the fact that two young atheletes have been lost for the year. Sick!

Stealers are league made frauds...... without the help of the leauge through the officals they wouldn't win 7 games this year....they've already been given the Bettis Cowher lovefest superbowl at the expense of the Seattle Seahawks with calls for plays that didnt physically Happen....last night they got a Mason touchdown quickly rushed under the carpet and a timely holding during the return call in overtime....like the Colts and Pats they get biased officiating everytime it's neccessary....the Ravens dont make money for the NFL...the stealers do.

You can have the moral victory, I'll take the actual win.

Though the Steelers do have a brutal schedule, it's not that different from the 2 teams you think will battle for the division; teams they've already beaten. And they haven't had the luxury of the Cincy freebie yet.

After watching the game yesterday on the North American Sports Network, I must congratulate the Ravens. They clearly were the superior team, and I think that their chances of winning the division look superior to the Steelers. Flacco proved himself, which should be of greater encouragement than a single loss. Pittsburgh has the harder schedule and the lesser team, so I doubt that one game will be hard for you to make up.

so bitter..do you all actually dress up in purple on sundays to watch a mans game...but anyway did you all forget you are the cleveland browns....also we beat you without our pro bowler casey hampton, pro bowler willie parker, and starting de brett keisel....championship teams capitalize on injuries like that...and donbt forget we had our last running back in the end and we still won..hahah...not to mention that pro bowl RB is back week 6,mendenhall before injury just returned kickoffs before that and we just signed davenport back..email me to enroll to become a steeler fan it comes with great benfits such as a winning tradition, history, five superbowls and also you get be comfortable wearing man colors not a woman color purple...here we go steelers..

Last time I looked, the Ravens and Steelers have almost identical schedules. Do you have a clue Mikey?

i wonder if anybody caught the latest power rankings on ESPN, where the steelers were ranked FIFTH (!) and the ravens were ranked FOURTEENTH (!!). did the persons responsible for these rankings watch the same game i did where the ravens owned the steelers from the opening kickoff till 6 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter? if it hadn't been for hines ward and his now-patented cheapshots and horrible tackling by the ravens secondary, the game would have been 21-10 ravens AT THE WORST. good luck, steeler nation. you may have won the battle, but will you even have enough healthy players left to win the war?...

Reading through these comments from Steelers fans just makes me realize how much I truly HATE each and every one of you. All you Steelers fans suck.

As much as I hate to admit it, the Steelers are a better "team." They got it done when they had to and they were smarter. Hines Ward got to Johnson and he stupidly reacted. Harbaugh made a bad call by not challenging the touchdown and by not allowing his team to try to win the game at the end of regulation.

Good teams don't lay down for overtime and they don't get called for stupid, un-disciplined penalties. And their coaches have a timely challenge system in place.

Harbaugh will learn and Joe will continue to get better every week. But if we can't play intelligently or find other players that can, we will never be a dynasty.
