Practice notes

Looks like that Edgar Jones experiment has been revived once again.

It appears that Jones, a second-year linebacker, is being converted into a tight end. Jones, a tight end and defensive end at Rayville High in Louisiana, was used as a tight end sparingly during minicamps and organized team activities.

Jones, who wore No. 91 as a linebacker, has switched to No. 46.

Other observations:

* Defensive end Trevor Pryce was not present during the portion of practice open to the media. There had been no injury reported for Pryce. Defensive tackle Kelly Gregg (arthroscopic knee surgery) and cornerback Derrick Martin (right shoulder) made an appearance, but were not dressed to practice.

* It didn't take long for offensive tackle Adam Terry to regain his status as a starter. Terry, who sprained his surgically repaired ankle on July 29, lined up at right tackle, joining center Jason Brown, guards Ben Grubbs and Marshal Yanda and left tackle Chad Slaughter on the first offensive line.

Speaking of O-line tackles where in the world is Jared Gaither? I though they were saying his ankle was not that bad. He has been out since the 3rd day of training camp.

Why havent the ravens brought in Luke Pettigout for a try out?

I see a season coming up of just more of what we have seen in the past. The QB getting hammered due to bad tackles on the offensive line, fumbles and interceptions will result, and completed passes will be dumps to the backs or 2 yard completions on 3rd and 8. Also, due to age, injuries will be prevelant. They will be lucky to win 7 games.
"o" as in no offense

Yeah, what's the word on Gaither from the coaches and other palyers? Is he a big softy trying to dodge camp 2-a-days?

Petitgout just got suspended for four games.

The outlook for this year seems bleak. Unfortunately the prospects for the future aren't clear. With the exception of Grubbs, there are questions marks at all O line positions. Flacco is a big question mark. The defense is aging and we have no real solid receivers outside Derrick Mason. Harbaugh has his work cut out. This year will be as bad or worse than last year in terms of "watchability" of the games.

So what's the over/under for Raven wins? Five (if we are even that lucky)

Gaither had a reputation at MD as being lazy and unmotivated and it looks like that may be carrying over to the NFL.

Guess I wasn't the problem here , I kept telling you guys Ozzie didn't get me quality players but 'you all' kept listening to Preston,,,,,,,,,,,,

Pettigout was headed to the PUP list in TB. He's probably out half the season. Then, as Trace mentioned, he's facing a four game suspension.
