Reed mystery finally revealed

The veil of secrecy has been lifted around Ed Reed. The Pro Bowl safety has a shoulder injury, coach John Harbaugh said after Wednesday’s practice.

Reed is on the physically unable to perform list and has yet to practice in training camp. Team officials had declined to comment specifically on Reed’s injury, causing speculation about his status.

During camp, Reed has worked off to the side, running and catching passes.

“It’s a strengthening issue and that takes a little bit of time,” Harbaugh said.

I wonder what Brian is thinking about all the injures during camp.

It doesn't matter what they say about Ed Reed he is one of the best athletes in Pro football! Not having him play right now is not a big thing as long as when the season starts he is ready to play!

The fact that it took this long to announce what the problem with Reed is troubles me. Why did the team feel it was necessary to hide the nature of Reed's injury from the fans?

Same old same old. Nothing changes here. New coach, new attitude, same old spin and PR. I thought this was all compu coach stuff, but apparently not.

I think Patrick nailed it. This whole things just reeks of: "I don't feel like participating in Camp Harbaugh" on the part of Reed. And despite all his emphasis on TEAM, Harbaugh is not immune from creating a two-tiered team split.

It was ok for Odgen to hold out for months instead of just giving a "No" answer because his situation was somehow different. It's ok for Suggs to boycott the camp because his situation is somehow different.

Meh...same ol, same ol.

Yes, fans demand a blow-by-blow, second by second the most intimate details of training camp and how all 80 guys are doing...down to how often they tie their shoes, go to the bathroom, etc.

Some folks need to learn to be patient, and let them play. Let's focus on that instead of minutia.

To the conspiracy theorists... There's some really cool stuff about UFOs and Bigfoot on The Discovery Channel this evening... Please dawn your tin foil hats, turn on your televisions and stop blabbering about things you have no clue about.
