Postscript on offensive tackle talk

On the heels of the departure of John Welbourn and signing of Chad Slaughter, coach John Harbaugh said the Ravens have not yet exhausted their search for a possible addition to the roster.

"I think if we find a guy, yes," Harbaugh said of bringing in another offensive tackle. "[General manager] Ozzie [Newsome] and [director of pro personnel] George Kokinis are working hard, but you’ve got to find the right guy in the right circumstances to bring him in. John would’ve been a good fit for us, but it wasn’t a good fit for him.”

If Cousins cannot practice this afternoon, that leaves the team with only three healthy tackles in Slaughter, Mike Kracalik and Isaiah Wiggins, who is more suited to play guard. Joe Reitz watched the morning session to rest his ailing shoulder.

Call up Ray Brown at the rest home. He can probably still hold his own at 50.

We really just need fill-ins for camp, as most of the O-line injuries aren't serious.

Gaither must have gotten the scoop from Ogden on how to get a break in camp. Sprained ankle or toe is your ticket to a couple of weeks off in August.

Its amazing anyone could say anything negative about Ogden
The man physically dominated every opponent he went up against with the exception of Freeney on those 2 games but did come back and shut him down in that playoff loss to the colts. In the same year he shut down Freeney he also shut down Shawn Merriman. When hes healthy he is the best o-lineman to ever play the game. I guess these guys dont watch football closely

Only 3 healthy tackles? Didn't you mean 4? What about the rookie from Weber State?

Maybe Kelly Gregg can play tackle. Let's hear it for Camp Harbaugh

Anonymous - I mean J-O. You are not above reproach in the NFL. You have to call it like you see it. Everyone knows Ogden took training camps off...most players don't care for it anyway. It is what it is. Yeah Mongo!

Most of these players came to camp unprepared for the physicality of Harbaugh's practices. They were not in proper shape physically or mentally and it is showing through. Ray Rice has taken some serious hits and he is fit as a fiddle. He is a notoriously hard worker (and he is young) so he has not gotten hurt.

Suggs for Boldin is sounding better and better each day that Suggs holds out of camp.

^^^See what crack does to you...jus say NO!.

Jimmie put down the pipe. Suggs for Boldin? Get REAL. Boldin isn't half the player Suggs is.

What about that OL from Weber State - David Hale? Where is he????? I think he was a college RT, projected as RT or G in the NFL . . . ???

If you don't think Boldin is as good as Suggs then you've either never seen Boldin play or you don't understand football.

Come on, let's trade for BARNES, the LT of the JAGS , only one year of contract left, and under the pressure of COLLIER!

This guy is young, a beast, and need a fresh start elsewhere! He looks the perfect fit for baltimore!!!!!!!!

Come on Ozzie, show me your the real deal in Baltimore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff,

Funny you should mention that. Gregg was the guy who took out Jamal's knee during training camp after the Super Bowl and there went our last best chance to get a second Super Bowl.

That single incident may have led to the so-called milder camps that Billick ran.
