Another offensive tackle sighting
Lineman John Welbourn is sitting in the team's hotel lobby. The 6-foot-5, 310-pound Welbourn, 32, is a 10-year veteran who was drafted in 1999 by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth round. Traded to the Kansas City Chiefs prior to the beginning of the 2004 season, Welbourn started at right tackle from 2004-06. He started every game at right guard last season for the Chiefs.
The only concern is that Welbourn has missed 10 games in two years for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing drugs. But if the Ravens do sign him, Welbourn could play either tackle or guard, which could come in handy for the tackle-depleted team.

Welbourn? I dont know much about him , but if he has 10 yrs of NFL exp , maybe he be safer bet than Cousins or Reitz at RT . But obviously Ravens' miscalculated their OT situation during Off-Season .

Also , If I were Ozzie/Harbaugh , I would change the 3 QB battle into 2 QB . Putting Flacco behind that Offensive Line is asking for trouble .
They said they have limited Cap Room? And Lewis , Suggs and Scott need new contracts? Maybe its time for Rebuilding .

What's happening with Hale? Why isn't he in the OT mix? He's a big boy but is his problem that he comes from a Division II school so he needs more time before he is able to play at a higher level?

The whole reason we're in this OL pickle and salary cap jail is because Ozzie sucks as a GM. He gives 90% of the cap to 10% of the players. It's not hard to figure why we have no OL. McAlister, Heap, Lewis, Reed, McGahee (ouch!), Mason and Rolle all signed ridiculous contracts. Throw in the insane rookie contracts of Flacco, Grubbs and Ngata, and all you have left for the rest of the team is food stamps and gift cards. Plus, they blew high draft picks on Terry and Chester, neither of whom will ever pan out.

Would serve us well on the o-line and Mr Todd Stuesse also.

Easywriter - you made some good points , and thats why i am not so ethusiastic about Ray-Ray new contract demand , where are they gonna find the cap space?
Sooner or later , Ravens are going have another 2002 Purge.
