No love from the refs

The defense's on-again, off-again love affair with the officials reared its head today. During 7-on-7 passing drills, members of the secondary loudly protested one penalty flag and one non-call.

When a referee flagged cornerback Frank Walker for pass interference on the left side of the field near the end zone, cornerback Fabian Washington -- who was standing on the right side -- yelled, "Kiss my [bad word]!"

Later, quarterback Troy Smith overthrew wide receiver Yamon Figurs who had somehow gotten open along the right sideline with no one around him for about seven yards. After the play, cornerback Corey Ivy seemed to be imploring an official to call Figurs for stepping out-of-bounds before getting open.

But the referees did get on the offense, too, flagging the unit for at least one false start.

Are these league refs, or are they coaches and assistants posing as officials for the puropse of the drill?

Oh no! One false start on the Offense, hope this doesn't lead to 27 a game.

I'd really like to see Cody finally be healthy, he still has a chance to be a really good player.

Big surprise...

The "officials" started screwing the Ravens over from the very first game last year against the Bengals. Offensive pass interference is NEVER called... it's damn sure never called at the end of a game... and on top of all that it CAN'T be called when there was not even enough contact for touch football!

The very next week, they again tried to take a TD away from Heap. I could go on and on all the way through the Patriots game...

But every true Ravens fan knows the rest of the league doesn't like us because we're a defensive team and don't have that commercial-worthy QB.

Don't expect any better from the officials. Just hope the team can stay healthy and the QB play under a new coordinator and coach finally starts to materialize into production.

I thought the rest of the league, especially the refs don't like[more like despise] the Ravens because of what happened in 95. Bad enough that Cleveland & the NFL media still refuses 2 get over it, but the refs...they're worse than the umpires who held the same kind of petty immature vendetta grudge against Roberto Alomar. I don't know who the refs hate more now, Ravens or Raiders?
