Ravens take linebacker

With their first of three picks in the third round this morning, the Ravens selected Miami linebacker Tavares Gooden. This was the 71st overall pick. The Ravens will be picking early and often today. They have six picks total in the third and fourth rounds and there is value available.

Gooden is 6-foot-1, 234 pounds. Could this Hurricane be Ray Lewis' heir with the Ravens? Oh, by the way, he wore No. 52 at Miami.

A terrible draft so far. Don't these guys realize they have a great need at cornerback. Flacco was an absolute reach at 18. Bisciotti wanted his franchise quarterback on the first day. Did his Angelos like move force Newsome to make a bad move. Inside linebackers that weigh 234 don't make it in the NFL. Running backs that weigh 199 don't make it in the NFL.

People, I swear I don't understand why they take the time to comment when they have nothing of value to add and don't know their facts. Linebackers that weigh 234 make in the nfl all the time. Ray Lewis was very lean, infact right around 235-240 when he was drafted. Your right, running backs that weigh 199 never make in the nfl, like that total bum who never did anything Warrick Dunn, lol. Most on radio and tv are saying the ravens had a pretty decent draft. They may have reached for Flacco at 18 but he may not have been there at 26 with it being pretty widley known that the 21st pick as well as maybe some others picks were being shopped around, so they traded up to get the best pick they could to get the next best QB after Matt Ryan. They, as well as many many others, thought that the gap between Flacco and the other QB's was pretty wide, much wider than the gap between Flacco and Ryan. They got a corner from Oakland, one who they already know can play in the nfl, a former number one pick. They beefed up the O-line with some backups, beefed up the saftey spots and also really beefed up the special teams. I'd give the draft a solid B, maybe even B+
