Bisciotti returns
Almost 2 1/2 hours after leaving the team's headquarters in Owings Mills, owner Steve Bisciotti returned at 3:52 p.m. today. Don't know what that means for Philadelphia Eagles secondary coach John Harbaugh, who has been here since 9 a.m. Stay tuned.

Comments
It means we will have a news conference where Biscuit will look all fresh and dapper as he introduces the new Ravens coach.

What about guys like Henderson who was on the staff when we won it all? Hes young and very experienced. Then theres Singletary this guy is respected by are team remember @ Seattle in '03 the team looks up to this man and I believe hes paid his dues as a asst/coach. I like Harbaugh and Ryan but we can keep them as DC or as asst.

Henderson hasn't exactly excelled as a DC...He could also be kept as a DC.
Singletary would probably only bite as a HC...he'd probably be able to motivate the locker room, but Sal Palantonio was discussing him, saying he's a bit overrated as a coach, and might be the kind of coach to try to throw religion into it, which could make the situation awkward in the locker room.
For me, I think Harbaugh should be the guy.

A pretty boy new age management style hire. In Harbaugh we hired a special teams coach with one year of defensive backs coaching. Never a head coach, not a coordinator. It’s like promoting a Captain to be General. Absolutely not enough experience. When you hire the guy that gives the great interview in the end all you have hired is a great interviewer. Tony Dungy did not interview well but is a great coach. This hire may help PR but there’s little chance it would turn the Ravens into winners. Bisciotti is going to ruin the Ravens. We should have hired Schottenheimer, a proven winner with head coaching experience. He has the ability and authority to put our prima-donna crybaby players in line. Then in several successful years we would have a chance at a Kirk Ferenz or maybe a Bill Cowher. Instead we hire “in over his head and failure” all because he interviews well.

I think the owner and front office were afraid to hire a strong-willed, no nonsense coach such as Marty S. Players with a divisive degree of EGO should translate into HE GO.

what a waste of tax peyers money, with marty and bill cowler available. wowwwwwwwww.

One from the Eagle's Nest is now in charge. I would like to see the Ravens molded in the style of the Eagles. Mobile QB who can throw downfield, effective HB, add in an All-Star TE.... I'm seeing possibilities, but perhaps in a few years.

Dave - if you had taken the time to read John Harbaugh resume, he has 24 YEARS of football coaching experience. Yes, none of it was as a HC, but the guy is loved by the players who played for him. His experience dwarfs Jason Garrett the presumptive first choice. Dick Vermiel, Marv Levy, Bill Cowher, and Andy Reid were all coaches who were never coordinators before becoming head coaches. If he does as well, the naysayers in B'more will find something else to whine about.

Jon who??? Man, hiring Rex Ryan would've been the best thing for this franchise right now, not hiring an unproven no name. Even though Rex has never been head coach, at least he has one heck of a track record with his defense. The def players seem to leave it on the field every game for Rex...i believe the entire team(including that 53rd man) would've done the same had we hired Rex......all together now,"WE WANTED REX!!!"

Dave, Joe and NM....what's the fascination with Marty and Cowher? Marty was a great coach...in the regular season. Cowher took 15 YEARS to win a SB...not that impressive if you ask me. Besides the fact he made it very clear that he is NOT available this year. Rumor is around the NFL, he's waiting for an opening in Carolina, which could come after the 2008 season. Give Harbaugh a chance. He's from a football family and has 24 years of coaching experience on various levels. As for the older, more experienced Marty and Cowher...you can't say that they could have controlled the players. Like any employees, if the majority doesn't like the management in place, they can make it very difficult for that manager to be successful. I believe that this would apply to the football field as well.
