Mason not ready to retire

With talk centered on the decision Jonathan Ogden must make regarding his future, it seemed only natural that 33-year-old Derrick Mason, who is six months older than Ogden, would also be asked to assess his thoughts on retirement.

But Mason, who has revitalized his career with 97 catches for 1,015 yards and five touchdowns this season, said he is not ready to give up his playbook.

"Oh man, the way my body feels, I could do another three or four years," Mason said yesterday. "Right now, I feel good, [my] body feels good. But even I have thought about, ‘Hey, is it time to leave?’ Then, you go out there to practice, and you have fun with the guys, and then you say, ‘You know what? I can stay another two or three years.’ Like I said, everybody contemplates it. Whether you’re playing at a high level or you’re not, you’re contemplating retirement, regardless.”

Mason Baby! he doesn't look old to me.

Stay another year, best receiver we've had in along time. Gets open and catches the ball. Would make a great coach for this team when he decides to retire. If pocket didn't collapse so quickly he would be able to burn opponents much more often. Great asset for ravens and plays with passion and heart, so he deserves to be alittle selfish, I call it the wantingness to win. That mentality should be welcomed by the fans, media and team. To bad there aren't enough players like him on this team and schemes to match his talent ! Nobody else wants the rock ! With trick plays he would score every game.

come on you cant get better than mason! randy moss can jump in a hole and never come out for all i care! derrick catches things that honestly i swear are going to be intercepted! he is the best!
