Terrell Suggs

It's a good sign that the Ravens will begin negotiations with Pro Bowl outside linebacker/defensive end Terrell Suggs. He has one year left on his contract, and you really would like to sign him to an extension before the season begins. A new contract takes a lot of pressure off the player and it's not something the Ravens want to deal with if they're going to make a serious push for a championship. In previous seasons, failure to re-sign players became a big issue in the locker room. - Mike Preston

Yeah, I strongly agree keeping T. Sizzle is a priority. If letting A. Thomas go to create salary cap room to keep Suggs was our strategy, then I completely agree with the organization. The Man's a beast.

This is good to hear. While Suggs can be a bit of a primadonna sometimes there is no denying that he has tremendous talent and a lot of upside. You know you have a defensive gamebreaker on your team when opposing Offensive lines have to work their game plans around him.

Besides, the last thing the Ravens need is another discontent linebacker with cash flow problems causing tension in the lockeroom because he has not been "paid" ( see #52).

Mike,

I am guessing his contract will be somewhere right around what NE paid AD. Lets say 5 yrs @ 38 Million ??

without a doubt, T Suggs will be the highest paid player at his position in the entire league. Something also gives me the feeling that he just might flirst with being the highest paid defensive player in the league. Following the Raven's front office treatment of successful hand picked first rounders, I can see T Sizzle keeping this highest paid tradition alive. Besides, becaus of his youth and durability, the Ravens can afford to give him something close to an 8 or 10 year deal worth about seven to nine million dollars a year as average salary. Bet

yes i strongly agree i beleive t.suggs is turning out too be one of the best defensive players in the league. every year he is maturing more and becoming better at linebacker and look for him to get a 6-8 yr deal worth about 60-80 million
