Marshal Yanda

I like this pick for one reason, and one reason only. Marshal Yanda is an offensive lineman from Iowa and his head coach is Kirk Ferentz. When Ferentz coached here with the Ravens, he was generally regarded as one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL, and he has one of the best offensive lines in college football every year. There is no way the Ravens didn't get all the inside info on Yanda from Ferentz. He and Ozzie Newsome remain very close and often trade e-mails. Often in the past I have criticized Newsome for not drafting offensive linemen, and it has come back to haunt the Ravens. But in the past two or three years, the Ravens have picked up some good linemen. It will pay off.  Yanda could eventually become the starting right offensive tackle, allowing the Ravens to move Adam Terry to the left side once Jonathan Ogden retires in another year or two.

Offensive LIne! Am I dreaming?
This is great
Now pick up a FB, some DB help and a QB and look out NFL...if Brian doesn't call the plays in the playoffs that is.

Great pick here, especially after what I thought was a reach in Yamon Figurs. But with that said, I love what we've done with the o-line. We have security everywhere on the line for the forseable future. How about a CB now? The Colts took a reciever in the first round and the Pats just traded for Randy Moss. Lets bolster that secondary.

Im sure no other NFL fans enjoy the middle rounds of the NFL draft as Ravens fans do... Stockpile picks... trade up and get our RT of the future nobody knew about...

I think this is a joke. Trade a 4, 5 and 6 for Yanda. WE COULDA TRADED AN EARLY FOURTH FOR RANDY MOSS!!!! That's why we'll be watching the Pats in the Super Bowl next year.

I like it.
Ogden, Brown, Flynn, VIncent, Terry; with Grubbs, Chester, and Yanda pushing in 07.

Terry move to LT, Brown, Chester, Grubbs, Yanda in 08 and beyond.

Then, they will have a GOOD oline to groom a future rookie QB.

the only joke is the Raiders giving up a hall of fame WR for a 4th round pick... its worse than teams trading with the Yankees at the allstar break...helping the best get better

If the Ravens were serious about trying to grab Randy Moss, then they would've been in the rumor mill as a possible trading partner.

However, the Patriots were interested in him for months, as well as the Packers. Did you hear any other substantial rumors about any other team being serious about going after Moss (and believe me, the Ravens aren't the only team starved for WR).

Just because a player has talent and is out there doesn't mean he's the right pickup. If that was true, the Ravens would've tried to go after Terrel Owens again after the Eagles cut him. It's the same thing with QBs, you need to put them in the right system with the right players or they're going to suck horribly (as the Ravens did with Kyle Boller).

yes tony, we will watch New england in the Super Bowl next year because they have much more room under the cap... Randy Moss' cap number next year is more than we have left... you probably wanted us to keep AD at 10 mil a year too
