Ricard

Don't be surprised if former Ravens fullback Alan Ricard is signed by the Cleveland Browns. Ricard was halfback Jamal Lewis' favorite body guard here in Baltimore and they remain close friends. Once the Ravens started using less of Ricard or a fullback, Lewis struggled. - Mike Preston

let the loser browns (eg Savage) keep picking up our has beens. I use to respect Savage-no more, he's so obsessed with beating the ravens he's lost site of the big picture

Is signing former ravens the only thing Phil know how to do?

Who Cares? Alan Ricard hasn't been healthy since 2003. And Jamal hasn't been healthy since he hurt his ankle in 2004. They are both done and not even worth talking about.

The Ravens track record of letting guys go and not regretting it speaks for itself.

Its now very obvious that Ozzie Newsome was the brains of the operation, and not Phil Savage.

All Phil can do is sign our retreads.

At least in FA, I think Ozzie was the brains, and probably stopped us from quite a few silly signing like David Boston, etc. Just forget the Searcy signing . . . lol

I wonder where many of the readers are who were so quick to post messages like "Maybe Phil was really the brains of the operation, maybe Ozzie was just along for the ride, etc." It would've been laughable if it wasn't so foolish. While no one would call him perfect, it's clear that we're fortunate to have someone like him doing his work here. I can accept a questionable decision (3 picks for McGahee?) now and again from someone who knocks it out of the park so regularly, but Savage is having a tough run of it in Cleveland. Meanwhile, our problems lie not with Ozzie but in other areas... but that's another post for another day.

I agree with the other posts thus far. Why are we talking about Alan Ricard? The reason Jamal started struggling was because he has been banged up and incarcerated over the last three years. Alan Ricard, because he was banged up as well, was released. He has little value to any other team in the NFL and therefore is availble to be picked up for little cap investment. Their is no big anti-Ricard conspiracy going on here.

The heck with the Browns. They are a cursed franchise. Let them have all of our old castoffs. Baltimore screwed them over but good and will continue to do so for many years to come as long as Phil is calling the shots. So sit back and enjoy !!!!

Another ex-Raven who will amount to "not much". Add Ricard (and Jamaal) to the Jermaine Lewis, Jamie Sharper, E Hartwell, D Starks, etc. list. The only ex-Raven to amount to much was Priest Holmes who we did not need or miss.

Thats true but Adalius Thomas will end that trend bigtime. .ouch
