Pashos

There is a strong feeling within the Ravens organization that free agent right tackle Tony Pashos will not return next season. The Ravens believe Pashos played well enough to earn a nice multi-year contract worth more than the Ravens are willing to pay.

Another salary cap casulty thanks to gluttony in the Castle. Jamal, Muitallo, Flynn, Vincent, and Samari Rolle are running up the payroll with their huge salaries and uninspired play, meaning that quality guys in their prime like AT and now Pashos might not be back.

"Billick Ball" is to poor coaching and a stagnant offense as "Ozzie Ball" is to signing/resigning/restructuring/keeping overpriced over the hill veterans while letting key contributors entering their best years of play hit the free agent market.

patrick, what planet are you on? name one free agent other than priest holmes who left this team for a big contract and made an impact. herring - lousy, baxter- lousy hartwell - lousy zastudil - oh boy, we really missed him. why don't you just admit you don't like brian and ozzie. at least then we know you are biased, because based on what you said you come off sounding like you know nothing about football and nothing about the history of the ravens.

Props to Patrick. That just about says it all as far as I'm concerned.

Un, PPDOC...what planet are YOU on? You might want to consider boning up on your reading AND comprehension skills. Patrick was referring to overpaid/underperforming players -- the result of less than stellar front office decisions -- who are currently impeding our ability to re-sign proven players like AD and Pashos (and I would add Ovie Mughelli to that list as well.)

This has nothing to do with any "ones who got away" in the past. We're talking about current events, not ancient history -- aside from the ancient history of the previous big fat money deals cut with underperforming underachievers. See the difference? Hope this helps.

I'm more with PPDOC on this one.

But my question is - assuming Pashos goes, will Adam Terry move to right tackle or is he going to be stuck behind Ogden?

sorry skayblatimore, the end quote was"while letting key contributors entering their best years of play hit the free agent market." Give me a list of those people that we lost in the last 5 years that you really are sorry are gone.
The only one off hand I can think of would be to trade Flynn for Rabach. We signed Vincent instead of resigning Bennie Anderson who is out of football and to what was considered to be a cheap contract. Jamal is a one year deal. As far as resigning Pashos and Ovie, the free agency period hasn't even started. So before you dump all over Ozzie, why don't you see what happens first. This team has a history of resigning the people they want and letting others go, and when they go - they don't make Pro-Bowls elsewhere with the exception of Priest Holmes. I know my Ravens history and what goes on in the NFL quite well thank you.
