O-line
The Ravens will make some changes to this group, most notably at guard or center. For the past two seasons, Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome thought starting right guard Keydrick Vincent was soft. The Ravens also don't have a lot of faith in center Mike Flynn, except that he is one of head coach Brian Billick's favorites. The Ravens would like to get guard Jason Brown and center Chris Chester into the starting lineup. Either Vincent, Flynn or left guard Edwin Mulitalo will probably not be retained, and another will be asked to take a pay cut.

Mike,
I am with this. I would keep Mulitalo though over the other two. Flynn can stay also but as a backup. Vincent has been one big bust as far as I am concerned. Also a lot depends on what JO does and if the Ravens retain Pasho's.

Ogden will retire if Mulitalo is cut or otherwise forced to take a pay cut. Vincent would have been cut last year but it didn't make good cap sense, and as I believe Ozzie pointed out last offseason, it wasn't like he could have played more poorly. Now that he's only got one year left on his deal, he's gone.
Is Chris Chester really the answer, though?

So assuming Ogden returns what about this for the line. Ogden, Mulitalo, Chester, Brown, Terry/Pashos

Mike,
The phrase that sends a chill down my spine is: ..."except that he is one of head coach Brian Billick's favorites." At what point does this nonsense of "Brian Billick's Favorites" stop, particularly when his "favorites" are clearly NOT in the best interest of this team?
I DREAD that Billick will succumb to Jamal Lewis' pleas to be allowed to remain on this team. Billick grossly mismanaged Mike Anderson this year, and it not only hurt our running game, it hurt our entire team. Enough is enough already.
And to compound matters, the decision to "promote" Rick Neuheisel to the gratuitous position of "Offensive Coordinator With No Authority To Call Plays" is the straw that broke the camel's back. Billick's clock management ineptitude is legendary. His predictable, "play not to lose" mentality is beginning to rival Schottenheimer's. And his preparation for the Indy Divisional game was a global embarrassment.
And yet...inexplicably, Steve & Ozzie didn't see fit to FORCE him to accept the plain, simple truth that he lacks the fundamental skills to be calling plays in the NFL, by promoting Rick FULLY to OC, in a serious effot to try to reverse the offensive river of Hades that has ruled the Raven's roost since Billick's arrival as head coach.
I am angry; disappointed; and extremely distrustful that Brian Billick can ever lead this offense anywhere but into the ground unless he is forced to face his own stubborn, arrogant, state of denial that permeates every fiber of his being. Last year's ultimatum seemed to finally get through to him; this most recent event (i.e. "Scapegoat O.C.") seems to be a giant step backward, and clearly in the wrong direction.

Just wanted to see if anyone has read Next Man Up by John Feinstein. Its about the Ravens and inside behind the scenes book that has educated me as a fan and i couldnt agree with that comment about a billick favorite. I love Billick and the job he did this season.
Small side comment about jamal lewis, if we were unusre to as if he was going to be back we should of tested him in the second half down 6 and said jamal its time for u to win us a ball game. This is the colts defense remember, i dont care that they shut down kc or even us for the matter...freeny is over rated, the linebackers are soft, and most of all look at all three games they played so far, every team has given up on the run even when they were still in the football game...im just very upset because i knew from day 1 this was a superbowl team but we can now i guess look to next year
