Bart Scott
Ravens outside linebacker Bart Scott could be named to the AFC Pro Bowl squad as early as this evening. The Ravens were awaiting official word from the league before they put out a news release. Scott is the second alternate. First alternate and teammate Ray Lewis had been named to replace starter Al Wilson of the Denver Broncos, but Lewis is not expected to play in the annual classic because of an injury. - Mike Preston

Mike,
I don't know what the hold up is.....The NFL Channel was reporting this last week....

So is this a magnanimous gesture on Ray's part on behalf of his younger teammate? Or is his unnamed injury real?

I think Ray knows Bart Scott deserves to be there.

Mike,
Nice work -- you were on this story very early, and it looks like you were right.
This is wonderful news - Bart Scott deservingly gets to play in the Pro Bowl, and Ray Lewis facilitated this result with great class. A great day for Ravens fans!

EXTREMELY proud of Ray Lewis. No matter the reason, his actions continue to prove that he IS 'the general', who cares deeply about his team and fellow warriors. One day, the Hall of Fame will be honored to host his presence.

Scott is certainly deserving- as was Lewis. By stepping aside Lewis honours his teammate and displays his leadership and commitment to the team.
Way to go, Ray!
