Ray-Ray
Middle linebacker Ray Lewis downplayed the news that he didn't make the AFC Pro Bowl squad, but we all know better. Lewis is a great competitor and he strives to be the best. According to some people who know him fairly well, Lewis has undergone the full gamut of emotions -- from disappointment to bitterness. He still believes he is the best middle linebacker in the game.
It will be interesting to see how he plays Sunday. He might take some of that frustration out on the Steelers.

I think you are right Mike. This may elevate Ray Ray's game and take us straight to Miami with or without a bye week.

My first thought about the Pro Bowl vote is why do it with two games left in the season? Its not as bad as voting for and playing the MLB Allstar game in the midle of the season, but the voting still should be put off at least until after the regular season.
On the other hand, who wants to be Willie Parker or Ben Roethlisberger this week? The only thing worse than going up against a Ray Lewis-led defense, is going up against a Ray Lewis-led defense with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove. I won't go so far as to predict a win in Pittsburgh this weekend, but it should be an entertaining game.

In all likelyhood he will. And we'll win because of it. When Ray's ticked off, that's definitely not good for the opposing team(s) we have to play.

Ray deserves to be there, everyone knows that. Players and coaches let personal issues dictate their voting. But that's alright, I love having a motivated Ray Lewis on my team.

I still believe he is the best in the game. how can people put a second year middle linebacker ahead of a veteran like ray? ill tell you why. numbers. the guys gotten some sacks this season. and i guess so, he specializes in pass rushing and has a beast of an defensive line. ray may have lost a step, but he brings more to the field than any middle linebacker in the game hands down. its tough to put him ahead of urlacher right now, but its even tougher for me to say urlacher is the better MLB.

I feel sorry for all the offenses that the Ravens are going to face in the coming weeks. You just made Papa Bear really angry. Pryce, Scott, Gregg...all the other deserving guys that were left off on this great defense will be headhunting come Sunday.

id also like to add that the pro bowl rosters reflect the views and statements of the machine that is ESPN.

Man o Man... I don't now wanna be an offensive player play'n the Ravens right about now... This guys is gonna get his ring and go out on top ... And he will destroy anyone in his path to get it.... THE NFL DONE MESSED UP !

Who would have thought that Ray Lewis would ever be underrated. Ray has had a quiet comeback year after a sub-par 2004 and injury riddled 2005.
Ray is no longer the conspiquous playmaker, but more the glue that holds everything together.
Hope that all our other snubbees make them pay. Ray, Bart, Kelly, Trevor, Todd, Just imagine that the man in front of you voted against you.

I agree with most fans..Ray Lewis is a tremendous MLB, and the soul of the Raven defense. That being said it's fairly easy to see why he wasn't selected for the Pro Bowl, fan voting aside.
He's a step slower getting to the outside, doesn't shed blocks as well as in prior years,, and has games in which the running backs run through his tackles.
Even with those minuses, he remains one of the greatest LB's to wear a Raven's uniform. And..NO,,come Sunday I wouldn't want to be a Pittsburg Steeler running back looking to make a name by running over him.

He's just not that good for years.Bart Scott and Trevor Pryce are more worthy.

All of the Pro-Bowl complaints are stupid.
We haven't done much the last couple of years, and everybody thinks we should have all these Pro-Bowlers.
Ray Lewis has been going down hill for years. He gets way too much credit from announcers for other peoples tackles. Name a single game Ray's has played in the last two years that would stack up against the kind of games he used to do all the time. Tackle stats are almost meaningless.
I've loved watching Ray's career as much as anybody; but he's getting driven back on plays he used to blow up. Anyone unbiased should see this.
Pryce, suffers from being a combo DT/DE. A great post season will go a long way to help his profile,
McNair ? give me a break, Most likely leads the league 3rd down completions that are not enough for a 1st down. His dead-arm periods are this teams biggest weakness.
Kelly Greg; great team guy, Ray's finger pointing before the draft, didn't help his rep.any. If John Henderson's not in; Kelly really doesn't have a beef.
His blue collar type of play is seldom rewarded, but sacks are king on the D-Line.
A lot of guys can go a long way towards getting that respect they crave, in the post season. Which is just fine with me.

My Pro Bowl theory is that Ray Ray didn't make it because he played the race card on that issue about the Titans locking out McNair. And I figured Bart Scott was probably not going to make it when he admitted putting some "hot sauce" on the ankle of America's golden boy, Reggie Bush.
Posted by: gordon | December 23, 2006 1:38 AM
Scott talks too much. Not just about Bush but about everything. He's making the best of his 15 minutes but I wish he'd act like he expected to be in the spotlight for a while. I know you came to visit Disney World, Bart, but now you're Mickey Mouse. Stop taking pictures with yourself.
As for Ray and the race card, players vote for probowls also. Ray was stupid to speak his mind but there are many more skewed views in this country and I'm guessing other players who thought more strongly about that theory than Ray... others that may not have agreed but understood where it was coming from. To think he was snubbed b/c of that comment would be suggesting serious segregation in the NFL. The good ole boys are still around upstairs, but I'd give the league more credit than that.
