The Fatigue Factor
The Ravens will have to find a way to remain fresh for the remainder of the season. They have veterans at some key positions and looked extremely tired going into the bye week. There is a concern that they may not hold up for the remainder of the season. It's certainly something to keep an eye on. After a week off, they looked remarkably fresh against the Saints last Sunday.

Well, I think this defense has been on the field a tad bit too often this season. They're doing great, but it seems like they are always out there. It's either because we're punting on 3 and out or because we're scoring in only a few minutes. Jamal Lewis is going to do a lot to change that. Jamal hasn't had a 30+ carry game since the 2004 season. He has been used extremely sparingly in the first seven games with touches of 18, 19, 21, 15, 15, and 9 until he hit this last game after the bye. I love smashmouth football, I've been a fan of Jamal Lewis since week 1 and I didn't want to take Chester Taylor over him. Many Ravens fans were telling me how I was eating my words before last week, but the Vikings offensive line doesn't compare to ours. They have a much better front five.

Hasn't it long been common knowledge that Brian Billick doesn't exactly run the hardest training camps in the league with the intention to keep the players "fresher" longer into the season. I think one local journalist repeatedly harpooned him last year over "Camp Cream Puff". Now an ominous warning that some key veterans are looking very tired already. A very curious tidbit. Do you mind enlightening us with exactly WHO it is that is concerned about them holding up for the remainder of the season? And do you ever have a source that isn't anonymous?

I for one am not concerned. Physical conditioning is not a Ravens problem. They looked no more tired than any other team, playing hard. Nor are the Ravens particularly old, to which the "they have veterans" comment alludes. The Ravens look fresh because they have a new offensive mentality, confidence, enthusiasm and outlook, to say nothing of a new formula, for success. You go Ravens!

Hey Mike speaking of fatigue, I sure hope that is the excuse of Samari Rolle, because it just seems as though there is no hope for him. Im sure you are going to say he is a veteran and he used to be one of the best pure cover guys in the league, but used to is the key word. Why does it seem like nobody notices the holes in our secondary, as far as coaches. I am the ravens biggest supporter but I sure hope I am able to acquire Chris Henry in my fantasy league because something gives me the idea that he will exploit our weak secondary. Unless Rex Ryan puts in some of the young guys like Ronnie Prude to replace Rolle. What do you think?

Don't you think some of the fatigue factor might have been due to playing in 5,500-foot Denver? The Ravens historically have gotten less worn-down than other teams, so I don't see any reason why this would change.
