Peter Boulware
It's great to see the Ravens are putting outside linebacker Peter Boulware into the Ring of Honor. Boulware was always a great player to watch, and was relentless especially when it came to running down quarterbacks. With Boulware, Jamie Sharper and Ray Lewis, the Ravens had the greatest trio of linebackers in the league at one time. Boulware always played with a passion, and I'll always remember the constant pain he endured on game days with his shoulders and knees. More importantly, he was a great guy off the field, a Christian who always gave back to his community. There was nothing phony about Boulware. He was a pro and is an honorable man.

I met him several years ago back in high school when he spoke to our chapter of the Fellowship for Christian Athletes. He is a terrific man, very soft spoken and humble off of the field and truly a role model for people growing up in a city like Baltimore.

Among other things from those days I remember a mag spread on injured players in b/w photography. Boulware, his shoulder, his ice, his bed, remote control, immobilized. I don´t know how he dug that deep on game days and ohers in those times. Some of the games were more about him still being on the FIELD! Trainers almost takin turns kneeing the shoulder back in on the sideline. One of my two all-time fave Ravens, and 99´s already in the ROH. Those are choices. Inspiring.
