Old Colts

Because the Ravens had a bye this weekend, I decided to fly up to Canton and visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I've been to the Hall of Fame numerous times and I'm way over the Colts move from Baltimore to Indianapolis. But I still get irritated every time I see the uniforms, helmets, autographed balls and all the other memorabilia from the greats like John Unitas, Lenny Moore, Art Donovan, John Mackey and Raymond Berry under the Indianapolis Colts. I'm not one of those warm, fuzzy romantics who can't get over the past, but the history of the Colts should be put in its proper place: right back in Baltimore.

Press,
Did the same thing this weekend . Only a little closer. Bought the new Johnny U book. Visited w/ Berry,Moore,Laird ,Volk, F. Miller, Eggers, Mutschler,M. Curtis,E. Wingate, and "The Dean" Vince Bagli. Went to Costa's got some Crabs. Oh! What a Sunday...Just like the good Ol' Days! Better yet the Skins lost! It's 1:05 am, I'm on Chapter 13, what a read.
Take the time, visit the Sports Legends Museum, get some Crabs and read Johnny U. I guarantee a great day.

Keep up the great work!!!

Well, I guess that makes me a warm, fuzzy romanticist, because I'm not over the Colts leaving Baltimore. I don't think I ever will be.

You're right Mike. It's a travesty. But what about other franchises, i.e the old St.Louis Cardinal and L.A Rams, etc. Are they listed under their old or new cities?

You're right, Mike. I like Peyton Manning and he seems like a classy guy. But it disgusts me that he is breaking John Unitas' Colts records. The NFL really messed up on this one. I could never support Tagliabue for the HOF because of what his decisions meant for Baltimore football.

Yeah, that's horrible. What was the deal with the whole license plate thing in Indy? Imagine us having license plates of JIm Brown!

Mike-

It IS disgusting that any Baltimore Colt in the HOF, or any Colts memorabilia prior to 1984, would be under an Indiana-no-place Banner. Johnny U's only connection to Indiana was that that was one of the schools that didn't want him.

It is a travesty. While it is great that Baltimore is now creating wonderful memories with the Ravens, old-timers know that our city's love affair with football began years ago, not that the NFL will acknowledge it!

Absolutely right that it is a disgrace to connect the indianapolis colts with the Baltimore Coltsin any way. The memories belong to Baltimore and so do the chapmionships. the irsay family stole out of town literally in the middle of the night - and they stole the name and the uniforms and they think that they are entitlled to invoke the memories and the championships as partly theirs.

Wrong

Besides - real men play football outside.
