Reed and Suggs

Despite both players missing practice time Thursday, I can't see either player missing the game Sunday. These defensive guys have been talking about the Chargers all week and what is at stake. When you have two strong defenses going against each other, and both teams have good running backs, everybody plays. It's all about pride. They would have to tie Terrell Suggs and Ed Reed to a pole for them not to play in this game.

LAST WEEKS GAME WAS ALMOST LOST BECAUSE THE PLAY CALLING WAS SO BAD ON OFFENCE. CLEVELAND KNEW THEY ONLY PASSED FOR SHORT YARDS AND PULLED UP THEIR SAFETIES UP WITH THE LINEBACKERS AND THE PASS DEFENCE WAS PERFECT, UNTIL THE LAST DRIVE WHEN THEY HAD TO PROTECT AGAINST THE LONG PASS . AFTER THEY DID THAT WE WERE FINALLY SUCCESSFUL WITH THE SHORT ONES.

First, is this a blog that doesn't put down the Ravens in some sort of fashion Mike??? Have a good evening last night or something? ;)
Second, I agree. No way that Suggs or Reed misses the game Sunday. Suggs hasn't missed yet in his career and Reed I'm sure wants a shot at picking off the 2nd or 3rd highest QB (by the QB rating system) in the league this year.

All of the hype for this game is about LT, and the Ravens & Chargers "D" I'm gonna predict that this will be a breakout game for Jamal. I don't see anyone talking about still one of the most feared running backs in the league. I'm sure the Chargers are talking about it, but we'll see on Sunday!

Thanks for the update Mike. I hope you're right about both of them!!!

All need to calm down about the offense. Football fans are like boxing fans, they know nothing of the science of either. Mike Preston played some football, so he has some insight . I've played both sports and both take time to learn when your in a new system. An offense can carry up to 300 plays with audibles. You are not going to learn it in three months. The D will need to protect Steve until he grasps the concepts, audibles and timimg of his recievers. I expect a mid-season turning point, and it will happen. Until then expect close games, safe short passing routes and clock control. The media will be critical because that's their job. Mike is now a writer first and not a Kenwood High football player anymore. But he has played enough football to know the plan and concepts of what has to come together and how long it takes.

I sure hope so. If you asked what two players on defense could the Ravens most ill afford to lose, your answer would have to be Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs. This is gonna be the game of the year.
