Bergy's line better than Dice-K's?
Here's a real head-shaker for you.
Brad Bergesen was knocked around for five runs in the second inning Thursday.
Daisuke Matsuzaka had a no-hitter through three and left in the sixth -- after Bergesen -- with the lead.
And yet Bergesen's ERA lowered and Matsuzaka's went up.
Bergesen gave up five runs but was charged with two due to an error by Ty Wigginton in the second. Bergesen allowed eight hits and a career-high five walks in 5 1/3 innnings and his season ERA dropped from 5.55 to 5.47.
Matsuzaka retired 14 of 17 to start the game, but gave up four runs in the sixth. He lasted 5 2/3, allowing six hits and a walk and his ERA went up to 4.29.
He's stil in line for the win, though. The Red Sox are up 6-4 in the seventh.

still doesn't go down as a quality start though, I couldn't take it, I had to walk away and come back after the inning was over.

In the ninth inning why did Buck decide to bunt instead of allow Reimold to hit? Isn't that just giving an out away to one of the better relievers in the game? Say Reimold has a good eye and takes a walk or works the count. He has what most people like to say is a hitters eye. And did Buck forget he has Snyder, Andino and Fox on the bench?
I was not a big fan of the managing in the ninth inning. And the bunting with no outs to try for a tie game is not the first time he has done that. Why play for a tie game?

Another reason why we need a good first and third basemen.Bell impresses me way more than he thought he would with his defense but has no clue offensively, and Wigginton cost us 4 runs dfensively, and has done next to nothing offensively in the last month. If he look at his career,he's always been better when he's moved around and gets about 400-450 at bats. Not a patient hitter at all,and no way he should be batting third.Look up our record when Adam Jones is out.You would be surprised.

allowing 13 runners to reach base in 5.1 innings hardly makes his line better than matsuzaka's
