Roberts leading off, playing second; Markakis out
It's official.
No surprises here. At least at the top.
The Orioles lineup for Friday against the Twins and lefty Brian Duensing is out and Brian Roberts is atop the lineup and playing second base.
The other interesting thing about the lineup: No Nick Markakis. He's played in 94 of the team's 95 games. The only game he missed is when his wife had the couple's second child in May.
Corey Patterson is starting in right field.
Here is the lineup for the O's: Roberts 4, Tejada 5, Wigginton 3, Scott DH, Jones 8, Pie 7, Tatum 2, Patterson 9, Izturis 6. Guthrie, pitching

At least they broke up the left-left, right-right combination from 3-4-5-6 they've been using since Scott came back. Makes it too easy for the opposing manager to play match-up. When Nick plays tomorrow, I hope Wiggs is back at four, Scott five, Jonesy six. Don't make it any easier than it already is for Gardenhire.

Maybe they should instruct Tejada to not swing at the first pitch if Brian walks... you know... to give him a chance to steal a base before grounding into a DP?
Nick needed a day. His ABs haven't been good lately.
