Ernie will be missed. I had the opportunity to meet Ernie in his final season in 2002. The Tigers came to Oriole Park for their only visit that season and I had bought and read his book. I was working at the stadium then and I took my book down to the rail where he was standing and he graciously signed it. A season ticket holder snapped a photo of the two of us and the next day brought me an 8 X 10 of the photo. I took it to him and he thanked me for thinking enough of him to ask him to sign the photo of the two of us. I have it framed and it is one of my prized baseball possessions. He will definitely be missed.

Does anyone remember who Harwell shared announcing duties with when he was in Baltimore, in the '54-59 seasons?

I believe it was Herb Carneal that was the Oriole announcer with Harwell and before Thompson. I think Carneal left after the 1960 season.
