Another big game for Ravens fans: Tennessee-Houston

Yesterday, we discussed other games on Sunday that could affect the Ravens, mostly involving AFC East teams that are competing for the second wild card spot. But in the battle for the AFC North, even with a victory over Pittsburgh the Ravens could use some help in avoiding a possible tie-breaker matchup with the Steelers.

From that point of view, the Ravens would like to have the Tennessee Titans (12-1) still playing for the home field in the playoffs when the Titans and Steelers meet in Tennessee in Game 15. And that becomes the case if the Texans can knock off the Titans at Houston's Reliant Stadium on Sunday. Assuming a Baltimore victory and a Tennessee loss, the Titans would be 12-2 and the Steelers and Ravens both 10-4. The Titans would have to be concerned that a loss to the Steelers coupled with a Tennessee loss to Indianapolis in Game 16 could push the Steelers to the AFC's No. 1 seed because Pittsburgh (assuming it wins the final game against Cleveland) would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.

The bottom line is that Ravens fans want Tennessee fighting for something when the Titans play the Steelers and that starts with a Texans' win.

I thought about this same senario last week and believe that it is possible to come true. Houston is playing pretty good right now, and we all know how hard in division games can be. It would be huge if Tennessee overlooks the Texans and opens up the door for the Ravens to become the number 2 seed and have the opening round bye week.

Slim chance the Titans lose, but lets deal with the Squealers and take it from there! Go Ravens!

For the record, from the other blog entry, the Ravens CANNOT miss the playoffs at 11-5....yes they could lose a wild card tiebreaker to Jets at 11-5, but Jets win their division at 11-5 and the Ravens would beat NE in any tiebreaker (as do Miami & NYJ)

HEAR WE GO STEELERS> STEELERS 21, RAVENS 17. BEN WILL FINALLY HAVE HIS DAY IN BALTIMORE. WATCH AND LEARN, HOW TOUGH THE STEELERS ARE....... HEAR WE GO STEELERS>>>>>

That the NFL is laying off league personnel is unconscionable and is just a PR powerplay to set up a reduction of the salary cap (read: player share of revenues) in the next bargaining agreement. True, any organization could probably find fat to trim, but for the NFL to hitch this action to the national and global financial crisis is (baloney).

Much of the savings could have been attained through attrition, freezes, and cost cutting. But that grabs fewer headlines and doesn't help their case. This action is a simple PR move in the chess match of greed.

A typical uneducated Steelers fan. In the particular context you are using, the proper use of the word is "here" not "hear". Maybe you should watch and learn how to use a dictionary. Oh and by the way, Ravens 24, Steelers 17

mc - You might want to learn to spell before you troll. Or do they not teach homophones in Western PA?

Hey mc, in your wildest dreams maybe. Go Ravens.

Baltimore lost, oops. Oh yea, Hear (here) we go steelers, Here we go. Have a nice day, vegas charle, BA, and Norris. In my wildest dreams ? Go Steelers... Did I spell that right ?
